My 1st Thoughtless Thursday

workout

July 22, 2010

So I have never participated in Mrs. Fulmer’s “Thoughtless Thursday”, but I am having one of those rando head-in-the-clouds kind of days so I figured why not play along… I mean, the overall point of the post is to air anything and everything and udder complete nonsense, right??
{And P.S. if you don’t reasd her blog, you totally should!! She is completely adorable–she’s from the other T–as in Texas–but I won’t hold that against she… she is also prego and expecting their first baby boy this fall}
1. Why can’t people follow instructions?? People who say they read something when you are helping them but then send you something completely WRONG just drives me insane–attention to details people!!
2. I bought the CUTEST Nike running skirt last night at Marshall’s–and the adorable thing was a mere $15…always on the prowl for a bargain people!! It’s just like this one, but it’s fuschia with black polka dots
3. As I was driving to work this morning conversating with Mom–and yes, we do this at least 3 times each week–she made me ponder something… she was talking about how all the women in my family collect things, yet I am someone who likes a clean space with not much clutter—hmmm interesting… however, I do collect one thing: everytime we or my parents travel somehwere new, I always get a coffee table book! Sounds weird, but I’ve got quite a collection already including: San Francisco, Barcelona, New York, Napa, Paris, Rome,  Madrid, and Key West just to name a few!
We do agree on one thing though–she likes to collect antiques while I much prefer the look of a full crowded closet with my favorite dresses, coats, shoes, and purses.
4. I got my first non-human AKA mystic spray tan last night and let’s just say I didn’t use enough of that lovely barrier cream… otherwise known as “hello, my name is Natasha and I look like an oompa loompa”–thank the Lord I tried this out now instead of later when I had something important to look good for… I’ll be washing my hands 10 times a day until this lovely orange fades =)
5. And Meg this is just for you: a friendly reminder that you will be Mrs. Aaron Grunke in only 23 days!! {don’t get freaked out, I am just telling you this because I am soooo excited}… a weekend full of their friends and family with amazing wedding events planned–woo hoo! bring on the fun… love you the most!!

  2. Sarah says:

love the coffee table book idea – it's a good way to remember and a pretty little decorative element! 🙂

as far as the spray tan goes…mystic does make you look totally oompa-loompa- esque, but there is a chic in brentwood who does airbrushing and it is fantastic! no orange, no streaks, just pretty brown! 🙂 i used to tan all the time in the fake bake beds, but i have not since i discovered airbrushing! 🙂

  3. Sole Matters says:

ohhh..i usually get shot glasses…but i like coffee table books better! im going to start that trend! 🙂

  4. Julia says:

Hi, I'm a somewhat-regular reader but rare comment-er. I just wanted to ask– don't running skirts ride up on you big time? Perhaps I am the only one. But it drives me NUTS. I think they are so adorable and would run every run in them if weren't for that rather unpleasant side effect.

  5. Lindsey says:

UMM your closet is amazing – i am EXTREMELY jealous of the clothes in it AND the organization! that is awesome 🙂

  6. Brown Girl says:

What a steal on the running skirt!!!! That's awesome!

  7. Ugh totally agree with following directions had that problem all day at work yesterday.

I like the coffee table collection! That's a good idea!

  8. ABRK says:

I currently have a spray tanning business and have seen gorgeous results on all of my clients. I only charge $20 if you come to my house in Nashville. Love your blog!!

  9. Sarah says:

Love, love, LOVE the skirt! I have been trying to find a running skirt that I love, but haven't yet… Too cute!

Ohhhh the Oompa Loompa look… The first time I did the Mystic I pulled a Ross from Friends… Didn't know I was supposed to turn around… But hey. Ya live and ya learn!

  10. Love this list! 🙂

I love the idea of collecting books from places you visit. I think that I'll do this with my boyfriend from now on…what a great way to reminisce

  11. Isn't digging for great deals at Marshalls the best? That running skirt is too cute! I've never run the skirts, how do you like them?

  12. for those interested, i find that running skorts are actually better than shorts for cardio… they move a lot better for me and obviously i think they look cuter-haha! try one out, but if you do, get a champion one from target–they stretch the best!

  13. Is that your closet?! Ahh-Mazing!

  14. heather says:

Bummer on the spray tan! Lemon juice helps take off some of the tan. Oh and I included a post about you over on my blog! Check it out!

  15. Katie says:

thanks for playing darling girl! and thanks for the sweet shout out, i DO appreciate it 🙂

#1-flippin' love the running skirt AND marshall's! i could spend the day there or tjmaxx and ross. you have to pick through some things to find the good stuff, but $15? so worth it! and let's not even get me started on the magic of homegoods …

#2-if that's your closet i may just have to hate you. just for 5 minutes, but still. will have to hate you.

#3-advice on spray tanning. don't use your loofa in the shower after. it makes it look like you're fake tan peeling. which looks even more awesome that real tan peeling. be careful when you sweat after. even if you've already showered. i once tanned and then 3 days later (yes i'd showered) wore white capris to a ranger game to which i returned home with pants that looked as if i'd slid into home base.

have a great weekend pretty girl!

  16. I have had some of the worst spray tans ever! Glad Im not the only one who has trouble with that barrier cream!

  17. ladies–quick clarifier: that unfortunately, is NOT a picture of my closet… we can all still swoon together and i can hope i get that in our NEXT house– haha! =)

  18. Sherrie says:

I love the coffee table book collection idea! I had to get my drivers license renewed before my birthday and the photos are orange. I look like and Oompa Loompa. I have a friend who also got hers done and same thing, orange. Love that license for the next eight years.

  19. Tarryn says:

Love that running skirt!!! And I want a closet similar to that one in the photo!
