Wedding Wednesday… What’s Next?

wedding

October 20, 2010

Alright, I think it is finally starting to settle in that we’re getting married. I know, it’s taken long enough, right?? Well, once I started receiving fun messages from friends and family saying they had received our save-the-dates, it made me stop and think to myself “Wow, this is really happening!’…kinda crazy that the countdown is getting shorter, and today officially marks 234 days until I become a Mrs.
So where do we from here you ask? Oh there are plenty of details I am wanting to get finalized before the holidays so I can sit back and relax and actually enjoy time with family and friends for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
1. The Ever-So-Important MOB Dress: This afternoon, my Mom and I have an appointment at The Bride Room for her to begin trying on potential dresses… her and I both are SO excited  and I know we’re going to find something fabulous to show off just how beautiful my Mom is–we’re on the hunt for a floor length gown–elegant and refined–that will play on the colors of my wedding…sounds good to me! Some early contenders include:

2. Order the bridesmaid dresses–these will be ordered by the end of the week–woo hoo for my ladies looking gorgeous in these frocks {in black of course with no hat–haha!}:
3. Finalize Plans for the Reception Venue: On November 18th, Mom, Jeff, and I will be meeting with our reception coordinator, Laurie, to talk anything and everything reception. That day, we’ll be finalizing vendors for our rentals including china, linens, chairs, lighting, draping, etc. Given that we already finalized our caterer, cake baker, band, and florist, our meeting should be fairly straightforward and I can’t wait to talk through all of our ideas with her… of course, you all are well aware I have all of those details planned out in my head, right??
4. Hair and Makeup: thanks to my wonderful wedding planner, we have a great list of top wedding makeup and hair artists throughout Nashville to select from for the big day! I have reached out to a few ladies and will be meeting with them to talk details, ideas, and then book someone for me and my gals!
5. Stalk all my favorite wedding sites as they talk about all things market: check out Weddings Unveiled and Southern Weddings Magazine for recaps from every top designer! Such lovelies for all the brides that will be buying their gowns next spring…
Happy Hump Day Friends!! Back tomorrow with answers to questions, some new fashion finds, and hopefully some pictures of house progress!!
