Say It Isn’t So

Uncategorized

December 16, 2010

I thought maybe I just wan’t feeling up to par due to the cold weather and just lots of stressful situations in general, so I tried to take it easy last night, but in the middle of the night I woke up with the worst toothache I have ever had…ugh oh.
Ummm yes, attempting to eat eggs for dinner last night and cereal this morning was quite entertaining as I couldn’t chew on one side of my mouth and was in severe pain on the other–fantastic!
To put it nicely, I am scared of the dentist {not of mine as he is fantastic and has done so much for me and my family}, but this issue may just come from having such traumatic experiences as a small child–silver caps on most of my baby teeth, wearing braces for 2 years, having 4 of my teeth extracted to make room for my molars, countless fillings throughout my adolescence and young adult years, not to mention the 3 crowns I already have–yeah, you could say my mouth is worth a lot of money.
And what’s worst is that I am the most anal person about my teeth you could ever meet… I brush at least 3 times a day, rinse with mouthwash, floss, visit the dentist every 6 months for checkups, am meticulous about maintaining healthy teeth and gums, yet I still have all of these bumps in the road.
This all stems from a horrid oral family hisory on both sides of my family–yippee =(.
Say a prayer for me this afternoon as I am headed to see my denstist to get a diagnosis… I am trying to think positive thoughts and hoping it’s something minor, but the analytical side of me is saying “get ready to pay up and do not pass go and do not collect $200″… I believe I am in for something not-so-fun right before Christmas–bah humbug.

Oh no, tooth problems are no fun at all! Here's to a speedy recovery so you can enjoy some of the holiday goodies!! 🙂

  2. Jenn Wade says:

Hang in there, sweetheart! Thinking about you!

  3. Oh no! I hate that… and right before Christmas. UGH. I'll be thinking about you this afternoon!

  4. I have bad teeth too =/ I brush and floss and use mouthwash but I am just pre-disposed to teeth issues =/ BOO!

  5. Lindsay says:

Oh no! Good luck, that doesn't sound like fun… I hope it goes well…

  6. CMae says:

Ouch! hope you feel better. I wish I could say I relate, but I think I got a longer stick in the bunch when it comes to teeth (if that analogy makes sense lol) It's all in the genes no matter how much you brush, floss, etc etc At least you don't have metal as your two front teeth as many of my children I teach are so poor, they have caps on all their teeth it's sad! 🙁

  7. Oh no Natasha! This happened to me once and it was not pretty! Let us know what happens.

  8. GIRL. I am in the SAME boat. My poor mouth is worth more than my car & my collection of LV handbags. … thats a lot!

It always seems to be something… annoying.

I wish you luck! I hope its just your sinus's hitting your poor tooth – and nothing major.

  9. I'm so sorry about your tooth! Ouch!
