So much to talk about, so much to share…forgive me if this makes no sense:

1. Finally finished “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” last night…hands down, one of the best books I’ve read recently. However take note–it is very crude and sexual so I am warning you, but the story is intense and a mystery you can’t wait to solve
What’s next on my read-a-book-each-month agenda? “Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen. The movie {that I am dying to see} comes out in a little over a month and I have to finish it before the big release…P.S. here’s the sneak peak trailer– LOVE!

2. Jeff got a birthday card from my grandparents last night and it totally made his week…I couldn’t help but smile that my family has brought my beau into our inner circle and they love him just as much as I do–definitely made my heart happy

3. Why are stamps so non-attractive? In searching for stamps for our invitations, all I can find are stacks of wedding rings {so not my style} and even more random–flags of our nations, mother theresa, and the year of the rabbit…seriously, the USPS needs help!

4. I miss the spray tan…I did the skin-not-so-soft switch from the spray tan to the tanning bed so I will look a little more natural come wedding day, but feeling pasty white while I build up a tan isn’t my best look

5. I am addicted to Panera’s Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. I have eaten it 2 times this week and it’s not even the weekend yet…this means trouble.

6. This week at work I am getting to plan a client event for the National Zoo in Washington and it couldn’t be more fun…this is where I really enjoy my career and getting to put my creative thinking hat on for “wild” {get it?} ideas…yes, that was a lame joke, but it’s still early

7. I’ve noticed that all I watch on TV anymore are ALL reality shows… The Bachelor, Real World {new season premiered last night=train wreck}, Real Housewives, Holly’s World, Million Dollar Listing, Say Yes to the Dress. Do I have a problem or is that all that is on these days?

8. I want tons of flowers in our yard this year for spring…lots and lots of color! If this stupid monsoon season of rain would stop  maybe we could actually plant some! I’m thinking tulips, daisies, pansies, hanging ferns, and lilies…anything that says “happy home”

9. Our March Madness brackets start next week at work and I couldn’t be more excited… I won the tournament 2 out of the past 3 years so I am ready to take home some free money!!

That’s it for now…so much to get ready for this weekend and time is running out!!! Happy Thursday friends =)

  1. Krystal says:

For my Save the Dates, I made custom stamps on Zazzle.com. They were a bit more $ but so cute! For my wedding invites, I ended up using the king and queen of hearts. It looks good!

  2. Emily says:

I've had the Panera fuji salad twice this week too. It is SO good!! You can order personalized stamps with you name/pic on them. Maybe that's more your style??

  3. What if you did your own stamps! You can upload your very OWN image!! My Mom got this for me for Christmas – it had my dog on the stamp (cheesy, I know). I've had friends do this and I thought it was such a sweet touch. It will make people keep the invites versus throwing them away!!!

  4. Miss Chelsea says:

I was going to suggest custom stamps, but clearly my idea wasn't as original as I thought it was haha!

Hmm I need a spray tan

  5. We got custom stamps from Zazzle.com for our engagement party! They have lots of different options. I actually have a picture of the stamps on my blog!

  6. Sarah says:

I am reading Water for Elephants right now, and I am enjoying it….I gotta ready faster though to finish it before it comes out too! 🙂 And I too watch just about all the shows you listed….I never really thought abou it before….. 🙂

  7. Happy Thursday! As usual you sound busy, busy, busy! 🙂

  8. Oh the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad, it's my favorite too! Can't get enough!

  9. Chiara says:

What a cute post! That salad sounds amazing, all I have been eating is salads lately… and it;s not for diet purposes… as I am aware that all those delicious dressings are not the best for me…

  10. Stephanie says:

I love tulips and wanted to plant them in our yard…however, everything that I've read says that they need to be planted in Oct/Nov to bloom in the spring! Thus, I will definitely do this for next year…

…just wanted to share so you didn't waste time/energy/money. Although if you find tulips that you can plant in a yard now, please share!

  11. I too am a reality junkie. You are not alone!

  12. HAS says:

Water for Elephants was the best book I read this year! Definitely recommend it!

  13. jayme says:

wow, apparently the entire world says personalized stamps. 🙂

also, how far out are you preparing the natural tan?! i'm spray tanning but thought i should do the tanning bed too for the wedding in april. ohhh the things we go through! ha

    happy thursday!

  14. I just bought Water for Elephants! I can't wait to start/ finish it and see the movie! I love the cast!

  15. kate funk says:

    Robert Pattinson. Swoon.
    velvet cupcakes

  16. LB says:

I can't wait to see Water for Elephants! Let us know how the book is because I've heard lots of mixed reviews!

  17. I also love The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but was shocked by all of the scary sexual stuff in it. Still I am reading the second book and love it even more. You will love Water for Elephants and I cannot wait to see the movie! Have a great day 🙂

  18. Oh and I'm hosting a giveaway for an item that will be perfect for your wedding. Check it out @

  19. Shalyn says:

Can't wait for the movie! I used stamps from Zazzle and used an engagement picture on them! You should do it!!!

  20. Good luck finding stamps! I've noticed that all the wedding invitations I've received lately have the same stamp on them… Your right in guessing there isn't much to choose from!

  21. melissa says:

I can't wait to see Water for Elephants! I'm usually not excited about movies based on books, particularly books I really enjoyed (which I really did with Water for Elephants) but for some reason this one appeals to me. It's probably Reese – I love her!

Hopefully they'll come out with some new stamps for you very soon. Something simple like a flower would be nice. I think we ended up with some cheesy heart. 🙂

  22. Mrs.Vid says:

I agree.. Real world was a train wreck! Looks like it's going to be an intense/interesting season! Good luck finding stamps!!! We used some that I was not overly fond of but they weren't horrible either. The Zazzle comment sounds like a good option!

  23. Living Foxy says:

I haven't read the girl with the dragon tattoo book, but saw the first movie and loved it.

  24. When I mailed out invited last year I used the rings (which just had to do–even though I didn't like them much either) and ones with purple flowers since they were the same color as my BM's dresses. Love hearing all about your wedding! It was such a great time for me! Loved every minute of it.

I too want to read Water for Elephants. They preview looks really good BUT I want to finish Black Heels and Tractor Wheels first!

  25. Jasmine says:

I'm currently looking for wedding stamps, too! Zazzle is pretty amazing but a little pricey!

But USPS also has other "wedding" stamps… have you seen the ones with purple flowers that say LOVE? && they have ones with a pretty wedding cake! They are little better than the rings…

    😉 good luck!

  26. Y'all, thank you so much for all the recommendations for postage… MUCH appreciated and very helpful!!!

  27. Tiffany says:

Oh my goodness……the Panera Fuji Chicken Salad is AMAZING! I used to live on them when I was in college….now I live three states from a Panera. So depressing! Eat one for me!

  28. Zazzle is the place to get stamps for sure. Although they cost more than standard stamps they made all the difference to me. I had my favorite engagement photo turned into the stamp for our wedding invites and got TONS of compliments on them.
