2 Months, 2 Months!

weekend

April 11, 2011

Ahhhhh!! Freakout mode commences… after a LOVELY and wonderful weekend in Knoxville with friends and family, the hustle and bustle of pre-wedding life gets back in action. 2 months from today, us girls will be getting beautiful and the boys will be–well, let’s face it, sleeping and being lazy until about an hour before the ceremony–but I cannot wait. I think this weekend sealed the deal for me in realizing this day is coming…and FAST!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news my friends, however, I have no pictures from our shower. Obviously I wasn’t able to take pictures, and my #1 photog man otherwise known as Dad is now lounging on the beach with Mom so my photo montage recap will have to wait…well, until best friend Bev sends me some pictures 😉 {and yes darling, I am luring you in–haha}

We had SUCH a wonderful time! The Alcorns, the Grunkes, and the Millers threw an INCREDIBLE party and Jeff and I were lucky our friends and family could be there. I finally got to meet some of his parents longtime friends and work colleagues and it was so funny listening to them tell stories about my beau.
The theme of our shower and Jeff’s unlikely new best friend will forever now be known as Wilton Armetale. We registered for a bunch of their pieces and I think everyone got together before this shower to plot to give us all of it–it was so funny because I am obsessed with their servingware, and Jeff kept saying “oh yay–a platter/bowl/dish/etc”.
We finished opening all of our wonderful gifts…crystal, luggage, Tervis tumblers, old fashioned glasses, mixing bowls, kitchen utensils, china pieces, and serving platters, just to name a few and then I got to give out the hostess gifts. This took A LOT of time for me as I wanted to give each of the couples something fun and useful and hopefully something none of them had. So I did some investigating and searching and stumbled upon Williams Sonoma Ebelskiver Pans and Pancake Mix. Turns out, they were the perfect gift and everyone was really excited to try out a new fun breakfast dish!

After munching on all the delish food, not to mention the banana pudding parfaits–oh the key to my heart, and Meg’s dad Bob chasing us around with wine all night, we all headed to Downtown Grill for some late night drinks food. Those poor people around us probably thought we were all lunatics with what all we ordered {and devoured in a few minutes timing}…cheese dip, chicken fingers, and nachos–oh but it was WELL worth it!
Sunday morning, we were up early to dine on homemade brunch made by Bev, had our first experience with Cambodian food–which was really good by the way, and then headed home. Lucky for me, I had my wonderful MOH come over to help finish stuffing wedding invitations so I made her and her hubby dinner as a thank you. Fast forward to nighttime and it was time for this little lady to hit the sack…exhausting, but FUN FUN FUN weekend!!
{and yes I promise to post LOADS of pics as soon as I get my hands on some!}
