Weekend Rewind

Uncategorized

May 7, 2012

Not too much to report on the weekend front, for our 2 days off was more like running around with our heads cut off in the attempts to prepare for our crazy week.

Friday afternoon, best friend Bev stopped by to spend a few hours with us girls at the house…lunch + catchup time + relaxation= just what this lady needed! That night, Jeff had to work late, so I ventured to the grocery store to stock up on essentials. Seriously? My date Friday night was a skinny cinnamon dolce latte while I roamed the aisles of Kroger, filling up on fresh produce and food to throw on the grill…that just sounds pathetic. And yes, I am also the nerd who is majorly guilty of reading way too many nutrition labels in the attempts to have better food at our house.
Saturday morning came QUITE early at our house with little bit ready to get up at 2, 4, and 6…somehow, the Sleep Sheep tamed her until 6 when it was time for breakfast. I caught up on my necessary reading {AKA Catching Fire} while curled up on the couch with coffee as it rained outside-perfect morning! That afternoon, I hit up the old Pottery Barn for outdoor pillows and accessories for our new outdoor oasis and then made my weekly Target run to get all those little things we need for the beach. That night, we grilled out and called it an early night-dare I say not only was it the Kentucky Derby, but it was indeed Cinco de Mayo and we were in bed at 9:30…debbie downer post, huh? No worries though, as much as I love dressing up in hats {big derb style and sombreros}, I love being at home with Jeff and Caroline WAY more I promise you that!
Sunday, we were all over Nashville, sipping on margaritas at Local Taco, back to World Market for more patio goods, and another Target run so I could check out the new Local Shops they are featuring, which is FABULOUS! Check out some of the goodies we brought home:

Hurricane Candle Holder
Galvanized Planter
Sweetfruit and Flowers Candle
Wire Napkin Holder
As much as I wanted to hit up the Webster’s collection, I refrained because I’ve been shopping a little too much lately. However, for those of you looking for fun summertime attire, hit up your local Target because they have some adorable threads!
Lots to tackle today–gym, post office, jewelry store, laundry, and cooking dinner so I best get to it…hope you all have a great day!

  1. Isn't it crazy how these little baby girls change our whole world! I would much rather be with her than out at a wild party:)

  2. Lindsay says:

I feel like I somehow make a Target run every single weekend. No matter how many times I tell myself I'm not going to go… I always find myself in there needing SOMETHING.

    When is your beach trip?

  3. We dont even have a baby and we were in bed on Saturday night by 11! Haha we are all just getting OLD!!! Glad you had a fantabulous weekend! Love all the goodies you snagged! xoxo!

  4. Packing for a trip with a wee one is no easy task, right??? And I have always HATED packing — now, it's enough to make me have a nervous breakdown when thinking of packing to be gone any longer than a few days! 😉

And yes, Target…oh Target… they have some great, new summery fun stuff right now! I was there yesterday too and refrained from putting any unneeded goodies in my cart. I was SUPER proud of myself. As in that never happens.

And, you're my hero w/ your loyal gym going and all. gahhhhh!!! SO GOOD!

Hope you get a lot done today and have an absolute blast on your trip! I LOVE Seaside. Please hit up the fun airstream trailers for me!!! 🙂

  5. Isn't it funny how your life changes so much when you have little ones? Honestly though, I wouldn't trade my relaxing Friday nights to go back to late night parties or hangovers ever! Shopping on the weekends, curling up with a good book, making good food is perfect! I'm loving all the home items from the shops at target! I was eying that candle holder yesterday!!!

  6. nothing wrong with being a food label nerd – it makes for happy, healthy families 🙂

  7. I'm definitely due for a Target run! Sounds a lot like our weekend! Pretty low key too! 😉

  8. I am dying to check out the new stuff at Target – it looks so cute! Hope y'all have a ball at the beach.

I'm trying to cut back on my spending as well. April took a beating on our bank account.

  13. Loe your new target goodies! glad you had a good weekend! low key is the best!

  14. Sounds like you had a good weekend! I hope you are able to accomplish everything on your list today and still enjoy your day!
