i finally found the perfect breakfast casserole…i’ve been testing out different versions for what seems like ages (and failed a few times i might add) and low and behold, stumbled upon my favorite this past weekend. this is a MUST for any family get together, any group brunch, etc-a sure hit i promise!
**and p.s. giving props where they are due (both picture and recipe from brandi at bran appetit)
Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 package crescent rolls
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 5 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp rosemary (i used more)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Place a skillet over medium heat and add sausage. Break up the sausage as it cooks, letting it brown completely
- Unroll crescent rolls and spread them out in the bottom of a 9Ã13 pan, pressing the seams together to make one large sheet of doug
- Spread the sausage over the dough
- Sprinkle cheese on top of the sausage
- In a medium bowl, whisk eggs with the milk, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Pour egg mixture over the top of the casserole
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the eggs are set
I made this the other night….for dinner. So yummy!
this looks realllly delicious! as long as the bread doesn't get soggy, i'm all for it!
that seems to be the only reason i usually avoid bfest casseroles – nothing worse than soggy bread!
