I was telling some of my girlfriends this past weekend about one of my favorite fall recipes, and promised them I would post so others could enjoy, too. You all know my love affair with desserts–especially cake–and this is one that makes my husband EXTRA happy đ
P.S. it starts with a cake mix…need I say more?
Ingredients
1 package spice cake mix
1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
3 large eggs
1 (8 oz) pacakge softened cream cheese
1 stick softened butter
1 cup confectionary sugar
4 tbsp apple butter
Directions
a. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease cake pan.
b. Combine dry cake mix with apple pie filling and eggs. Blend and stir well.
c. Bake for the amount of time as directed on cake box (depending on what type of cake pan you’re using…I used a bundt pan and baked for 38 minutes).
d. Remove cake from oven and cool completely.
e. For icing, mix together cream chese, butter, confectionary sugar, and apple butter and blend until smooth. Ice over cooled cake and serve with vanilla ice cream!
This sounds amazing! I wonder if it could be turned into muffins??
This looks so yummy!! And easy love when any recipe starts with a box;)
