workout music…time to step it up a notch

workout

October 9, 2012

I was scrolling through my iPod the other day and had an idea to post some of my favorite workout tunes to workout to. I wish I could be the person on the stairmaster reading a book or flipping through a magazine, yet I find that to be a distraction and then I loaf off and don’t push myself…unless I am listening to some of my favorite tunes!

I am breaking these down into a few categories, so you can create a fun playlist depending on where you’re at in the workout…

Warm Up
Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine
Airplanes by B.o.B.
Upgrade U by Beyonce
The Sound of Winter by Bush
Like a G6 by Far East Movement
All of the Lights by Kanye West
Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert

High Energy
Put on by Young Jeezy
Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold
Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas
3 by Britney Spears
Jars by Chevelle
Blow Me One Last Kiss by Pink
Titanium by David Guetta
Hello, Good Morning by Diddy
Crazytown by Jason Aldean
E.T. by Katy Perry
Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO
Paparazzi by Lady Gaga
We Found Love by Rihanna
Hell of a Life by T.I.

Over by Drake
Your Love by Nicki Minaj
Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye
Hello World by Lady Antebellum
Just a Dream by Nelly
Home by Phillip Phillips

Can you see what a music junkie I am? It’s funny because I love SO many different genres of music… pop, rock n roll, country, and anything in between. Hope these can maybe introduce a few of you to some fabulous new tunes to sample while working it out…

  1. Mine looks the same, i have such a variety of genres you wouldn't think its the same person..lol!

  2. This is awesome! I'm spinning from home now and needed some new music to motivate me!! Love this!

  3. Katie says:

Love the mix of people/genres! Definitely might be stealing a few of these 🙂

  4. Julie Rogers says:

Oh, I LOVE this list—I'm always looking for some new workout songs. THANK YOU!

  5. Love 🙂 I wrote down a couple. (I also love Phillip Phillips "Home".)Thanks for sharing!

  6. that is a serious playlist! Do you purchase your songs from iTunes? I never have enough "new" songs on my iPod to keep me interested, so I usually default to Pandora. I want your playlist on my iPod!

  7. I love you for this. But, really….I really, really love you.

I just started working out (God help me!) again and feel like my music options are so lame and I don't have playlists together so it goes from one good song to like an old school Conway Twitty tune. Not working for me.

Ps – please teach me your ways on how to weigh under 120 lbs. Thanks.so.much. 😉

  8. Love the song list! I just started talking spinning class and it inspired me to work out to the music.
Now running outside and the treadmill is enjoyable and easier by following the beat!

  9. Barbara says:

I just came across this music post and it's funny because I have almost all of the same songs as my go-to workout beats.. I use them in the same fashion as you as well! Good taste!!
