happy 50th birthday mom

Dear Mom,
Today marks a very special day in your life…we are celebrating your 50th birthday and I feel so lucky Caroline and I get to spend time you as we relish the woman I look up to most. I feel like sometimes you are entitled to brag a bit and I, for one, never back down from an opportunity to share stories about you with those around me.
You are the woman that taught me how to be a lady, the person that enstilled all the important morals and values in me growing up, the woman that told me I could be anything I wanted to, and you are the person that I strive to be like every single day of my life. You put your family before everything and from you I have learned life’s valuable lessons…how to start each day fresh, that it’s OK to cry and show emotion, how to wrap Christmas gifts and know that presentation is everything, and that no matter what, God is always on my side.
It’s all about the little things in life and rarely does a day go by where I don’t talk to you. Growing up, you weren’t my best friend, you were my Mother and I learned that’s the most important role I could ever have.
To see you with Caroline makes me the happiest person in the world. You love both of us unconditionally and are always there for us everytime we ask for help. You are my rock, my idol, my Mom and I just wanted to take a moment today to remind you how special you are.
You and I have so many unique traditions that we do together and I hope I can create new traditions for Caroline and I, and that she and I can be just as close as you and I are. Thank you for being there for me always, for showing me that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, and for demonstrating that life is what you make of it.
