Confessions…Poke Fun at Oneself

Uncategorized

January 4, 2013

I am stealing this idea from the lovely Leslie over at A Blonde Ambition, but it’s never too early in the year to start calling yourself out and talking all things totally random…who cares, right?

1. Last year I read more than 12 books (1 for each month was my goal) and I am aiming to keep that up in 2013, too. First up, “A Place of Yes” by Bethenny Frankel. I started it a few nights ago and am STRUGGLING to get interested and read more. Anyone else have this problem with a book of hers??

2. I peed on myself last week. Yes, truly. We had game night with my parents at our house and my Dad got me laughing so hard I couldn’t control the weak bladder. I blame it on being pregnant (to make myself feel better), but poor Jeff just looked at me and couldn’t believe what I had done. For all you people who make fun, just wait until you have a baby…NOTHING is ever the same and others can tell you from experience I assure you.

3. Santa surprised Caroline with a gift card to Janie and Jack (I think Mr. Claus got overwhelmed when he tried to do a little shopping) so we went the other day and got her the CUTEST, most darling swimsuit, beach hat, and sunglasses…it’s never too early to prep for fun in the sun!

4. I confess I’m sort of happy for Kim Kardashian and her baby news… I am guilty of watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians and she has wanted a baby for awhile. Not sure I think Kanye is the best father figure given his track record, but people change so maybe this will be god for them as a couple. I couldn’t help but read the social media sites and people’s Twitter accounts though…saying she’ll be a horrible mother? That’s a bit harsh-who are we to judge.

5. Just when I thought my winter TV schedule was going to be super lame since Boardwalk Empire is over, I saw prevews for The Bachelor ramping up for Sean’s season starting next Monday night…SCORE!!! I heard there are some CRAZIES this season so you know I’ll be plopped down on the couch with a bowl full of popcorn ready to savor every moment of juicyness.

I’m so glad this was a short work week for the mister…tonight, we’re hanging out with some friends watching the UT/Memphis game, doing a little bit of Costco-ing tomorrow to stock up on pantry necessities, working on our fitness at the gym, and then doing the typical church and lazy Sunday activities…Happy Weekend!

  1. Erin says:

I cannot WAIT for The Bachelor to start again. I've been experiencing withdrawals. I'm such a junkie. Can you believe this is the 25th season?! Holy heck word that is way too many for me to have watched and still consider myself sane.

  2. Dawn says:

🙂 I'll never forget when I tried to jog after my first baby-not a pleasant experience;) Why doesn't anyone tell you these things before you get pregnant? Haha!
I can't wait for the Bachelor! Woot woot!!

    Have a great weekend! 🙂

  3. Jess Norden says:

Hahaha….I peed myself so many times when I was pregnant (and after!), and Chad would just shake his head. Ha!!

What an adorable bathing suit!! She is one stylish little girl! 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Meredith says:

love the swimsuit, I am excited for Kim too, she has wanted a baby for quite sometime, but at the same time I feel a little sad for Khloe, whose also been wanting a baby for sometime. I am excited for The Bachelor to start! I do have to say sorry friend, but I am rooting for Memphis in the game tonight. GO TIGERS have a blessed weekend!

  5. Keri says:

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. I am trying to be better at reading too for 2013, I love to read, but recently realized I hadn't picked up a book since October haha. I think 1 goal a month is a fabulous goal to aim for, I am def going to try that!

    Happy New Year!

  7. lori says:

i am actually happy for kim, too. and i think she'll be a pretty good mom… i think it will help her not be so self absorbed and she's really good with mason, from what i can tell.

  8. T says:

Bethenny's books are boring. I could not for the life of me get into that book, so I listed it on paperbook swap dot com. *Great site btw! : )

What all do y'all buy from Costco?

  9. CMae says:

People judge people like Kim K because of her track record, her past, her money. She never wears the same outfit twice, and wasn't/isn't even divorced from Chris yet and she's pregnant. They say she'll treat her kid more like a Gucci bag on display than a kid. I just feel bad for her, I don't think even with Kanye she'll find what she's looking for. She's great proof to me that money cannot fulfill happiness.

  10. Day Old News says:

I don't think Kim will be a horrible mother, but I do think the two of them will find it challenging to focus on somebody other than themselves, their appearance and their egos! I love her show anyway, for better or worse, and look forward to seeing this new chapter.

  11. I had the same problem with her books. Nothing kept my attention, it was a chore to read it.
On a separate not I am solo excited for Sean's season of the bachelor too!

  12. Ohh you poor thing… but, I've peed on myself too! All from laughing too hard and it was SO embarrassing! And I, too, struggled to get into Bethenny's book… it definitely doesn't compare to the Happiness Project! And if you watched any of her shows, and know anything about her life, then the book is pretty boring. I still love her to death though!

  13. I had the same problem getting into a Place of Yes, and honestly, now that she and Jason are splitting…I'm not as intrigued anymore. And I am SUPER excited for Bachelor! Yay! Oh and do you watch Downton Abbey? B/c that starts this Sunday and is SOOOO good! If you're into history pieces like Boardwalk Empire {which I also love} then you should check it out! I got into it this past summer once I had Ethan and was hooked!

  14. You poor thing! Haha nothing is the same after having a baby:) I am so excited for the bachelor!

  15. kate says:

I LOVE that Janie & Jack bathing suit! That store gets me in trouble when I shop there for my daughter. Too many cute outfits!

  16. Martha says:

That is the cutest bathing suit for a wee one that I've ever seen!

  17. Brandi says:

Here I thought I was the only one happy for Kim! I don't really watch her show but she seems sweet and I think people are wayy to hard on her. Anyway, that bathing suit is too cute for words! Love it.

  18. Im excited too for the Bachelor to start 🙂

You look so amazing and I am so excited for your 2nd baby – even though it was quick… you're such a good mama and I know you'll be fabulous with two.

  19. Lindsay says:

You are the cutest thing ever! I love that you are so open and honest with your followers! Congrats on baby número dos! I had my first (a girl) 5 months ago and I love reading all about Caroline! It gets me exited for all the things coming in my little girl's life! Congrats again! Please keep your brutally honest but yet ADORABLE blog, all of your readers love ya!

  20. I am also so excited about the Bachelor this season! Who doesn't love watching catty girls get crazy for all of America while sipping on some good wine? You're probably not drinking wine with the bambino but I'm sure you're still enjoying the crazies!

BTW, that swimsuit, hat and sunglass combo is SO adorable.

  21. Laura Graham says:

I'm excited for KK too. I also think it is neat that her due date will be close to ours because I can't wait to see her maternity style! I am no Kanye fan and I do wish she were officially divorced too but… I love all Kardashians! ha

Love that swimsuit! Its too cute!

  22. I nominated you for the liebster award, check it out on my page and do your own!! love your blog. http://sweetteaandsundaymornings.blogspot.com

  23. Emma says:

oh, don't worry, i already wrote a post to recap this week's episode 🙂 just found your blog and i love it!
