I haven’t done a weekend recap post in quite some time and seeing as we had quite a bit of fun these past few days at home, I thought I would take a minute to write these little bits and pieces down…
Friday night, Jeff got home from his overnight work travels and we took it easy. This meant mama didn’t cook and daddy picked up Moe’s for dinner (hold your horses, I know we’re crazy over here!) We spent that night lounging around the house, catching up on all our TV shows we had recorded for the week, and called it an early night.
Saturday morning, we were up early (duh!) and managed to get all sorts of projects completed around the house…cleaning up the back patio mud pit, loads of endless piles of laundry, addressing birth announcements, de-cluttering closets to take a load to Goodwill, etc. It was a productive morning for sure! After afternoon nap time, we loaded up the girls and headed downtown to the Farmer’s Market…another item checked off our summer bucket list! We stocked up on all sorts of yummy, local produce including blackberries, peaches, canteloupe, tomatoes, cucumbers, and plums. Then, we decided it was time for a fun treat so we headed over to the local shaved ice truck and snagged ourselves Caroline’s very first sno cone=big day in her world and she was a fan of course! Saturday night, we grilled out and then Jeff and I had a movie date night from the courtesy of our own home…we always make everything a competition so in proper form, we played paper/rock/scissors to choose the movie and I won, so it was Les Mis…honestly, it was OK to me, but the husband wasn’t as amused considering the entire 2.5 hour movie is ALL music and ALL singing. He must really love me ;).
Sunday morning, the girls were kind enough to let me sleep in and Daddy handled most of the morning duties so I could get a bit more rest…so sweet. It officially marked the beginning of birthday week festivities so we met up with the family at Old Chicago Pizza to celebrate. My girls were decked out in their cutest duds and poor Carson slept through the entire event…haha. It was a wonderful afternoon and I have to admit I lucked out in the gift department…money, champagne glasses, kitchen/oven mitts (yes, I asked for those-haha), candles, books, pajamas, and the gold bar necklace I had been eyeing for what seems like forever! Very blessed to have such a wonderful family!
The rest of the afternoon, we spent outside with the girls and then Jeff whipped up a yummy scallop dinner…AMAZING. Not a fancy weekend by any means, but so much fun spent with my favorite people. That’s what life is all about, right??
Cheers to a wonderful week ahead…finally hitting up the salon to get my hair done, visitors coming by to see the babes (we can’t wait Jenna!), birthday night dinner at Husk with my beau, and then the big PARTAY this weekend with my best friends-bring it on!! OXOX
I love your weekend recaps hon! The girls are so beautiful and it looks like you guys had a productive and restful weekend at home. đ
Happy birthday week mama!!! Your weekend sounded amazing – and I'm just so impressed that you have really transitioned to a mom of 2 so (seemingly) easy!
Ahhh Happy Birthday week!! Sounds like a blast…especially the sleeping in part!! đ
Look at you getting out and about and crossing stuff off your to-do list! You are giving me hope that we can actually manage two kids. Got together with Hurt over the weekend, as they drove through Memphis on their way back to Nash. I asked about you guys and she told me she met Carson and she is adorable and that CC is hilarious, full of personality and "just like a mini-Natasha." Wish I could see them! Miss you đ
That pizza looks amazing!!! Happy birthday week!
Loving the recaps! Sleeping Carson looks so peaceful. Happy Birthday week!!
Those babies and all that fruit…so yummy! =)

Sounds like a fun weekend!! Hope you have the best week celebrating you! đ Can't wait to hear about the party! đ
Happy Birthday! As a Charlestonian, I frequent Husk but had the pleasure of going to the new one in Nashville right after it opened in June. The historic house is beautiful. Be sure to get there a little before your reservation so you can enjoy a drink at the Bourbon bar and make sure you save room for dessert. Enjoy!
Sounds like the perfect weekend! Happy birthday week đ
Weekends at home are the best, aren't they? We're not far from Nashville and head there most weekends, but there's nothing like lounging around the house, ordering food in, and getting things done! Glad you enjoyed the weekend with your family!
Enjoy your birthday week!
