Desserts are my favorite thing to make…duh! I would skip any meal to dive into something sweet so I have a “treat” for you today. Courtney Whitmore, the amazing persona behind Pizzazzerie, recently had her first book published, Frostings, (isn’t that the mmost amazing title ever??) and I am here to share a fun recipe with you AND offer a cookbook giveaway to one lucky reader.
There are SO many amazing recipes from the book that it was hard to pick just one to share…but hands down, I love anything banana so I went with the Banana Foster Frosting:
Ingredients
1â2 cup banana, mashed (about 1 large banana)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup unsalted butter
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons dark rum (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Mash banana in a small bowl with lemon juice. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter until light and fluffy (about 1â2 minutes). Add mashed banana and beat for another 1â2 minutes until well mixed. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Add in brown sugar, cinnamon, rum (optional), and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes. Add more powdered sugar to thicken frosting or milk to loosen frosting.
Tip: It pairs well with all types of cakes, whoopee pies, even cookies! You can omit the rum or use rum extract. Want more banana flavor? Add in a teaspoon of banana extract.
Yields 4-1/2 cups
Garnish it: sliced bananas, sprinkled cinnamon

CARAMEL frosting is my absolute favorite! Love it… i could eat it all day long. Every year for my birthday (and every member of my family's birthdays too) is yellow cake with caramel frosting. AMAZING!
The best frosting I have ever tasted was Praline frosting. It's to die for! it's especially good with chocolate cake or even a yummy brownie. I love ithat it's sweet and makes me remember all of my summers growing up making pralines with my grandma!
I love just a traditional cream cheese frosting, but a fresh strawberry frosting is a close second. Oh how I can't wait to eat dairy again!
