Five on Friday

Uncategorized

September 20, 2013

Peanut butter, chocolate, yellow cake mix, oh my!

One. Party Perfect Treat
Last weekend, we were headed to The Grays for a football cookout/party and I wanted to make sure we didn’t come empty handed to the fun, so I scavenged my pantry looking for something easy and yummy to take…I ended up making Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars which were a big hit and simple because they started from a cake mix. Sneaky, huh?? Sorry to put this in front of you so early in the morning, but I just had to share!

Home Sweet Home Coaster

Two. The House Tour
Next week, I am going to begin doing a weekly series with an updated tour of our casa…it’s been awhile since I have shown off anything we have done, and I figured it gives me an excuse to organize so I can take some pictures to share with y’all. By no means do I have the design aesthetic that some of you ladies out there bring to the table, but I do love to decorate! First up will be the formal living room! And yes, I will FINALLY be posting Carson’s nursery too–yippee!

Three. Making Dreams Come True
Isn’t it funny how God works sometimes? I had been praying about some opportunities…one that just fell in my lap, and one I had been dreaming about for a long time, and then all at once, He calmed my fears and the answer was as clear as day. I’m excited to be doing some part-time consulting work for my former boss on a brand strategy/marketing campaign and it feels good to be making a little side $$$ too! Other things are in the works, which I will be able to talk about soon, but I’m thankful for peace of mind and His assurance that all will be OK if I follow my heart. Amen!

Four. New Fashion Finds
Last week, I had some Old Navy Super Cash I had to redeem and of course I decided I couldn’t let it go to waste seeing as this mama is in DIRE need of some fresh fall staples because my last two winter seasons have been spent in maternity land. I was one savvy little online shopper and got all three of these goodies for a little more than $50. They arrived the other day and I LOVE them all!! Successful shopping from the comforts of home.
Five. First Taste of Fall
Fall is a season I feel like most everyone enjoys…the crisp morning air, the comfortable weather where you can throw on a light jacket and be perfect, all the incredible fall food, the endless events going on around town…I could go on and on. Here are just a few things making me happy about fall this year:

My owl Scentsy warmer with Cozy Fireside fragrance
Pumpkin Pie…actually, anything with pumpkin
It wouldn't be fall without pumpkin pie!
Chili…another use for my handy dandy crock pot o-matic
Chili Bar
Bonfires in our backyard fire pit

I hope you are enjoying the Five on Friday tradition as much as we (Darci, April, Christina, and myself) are! It’s so refreshing to see fun blog posts from new reads I have discovered from this link-up so please join us for the fun.
