ONE. The Crafty Woman is Back in Business.
Who am I these days?? I’m turning into a major DIYer…or so I like to tell myself. Jeff even said he noticed a big difference in me lately wanting to do things myself. I know, CRAZY huh? This week, I decided it was well beyond time to paint one of the walls in the downstairs basement/family room and turn it into a giant chalkboard for my girls me. Yes, I am a nerd and love this stuff too! I think it’s going to be a perfect way to work on teaching Caroline her ABCs. Even better, I talked tricked Jeff into taping and priming it for me…I know, this was WAY too easy! We started the whole process by painting it with a magnetic paint and then finished with this chalkboard paint (thanks for the rec Cami). It’s still “curing” for the next few days, but I’m ready to start drawing on it by the end of the weekend! Now only if I can have the finished product turn out like these creative spaces…
TWO. Back to MOPS, Round Two.
This Wednesday marked the first meeting of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) for the 2013-2014 school year. I LOVED this program so much last year that I knew I wanted to sign up again…it’s been amazing as I have met so many incredible women and I can’t say enough positive things I have taken from spending my Wednesday mornings with moms going through the same stage of life as me. We had
Leigh from Point of Grace come speak to us, and sing a little too and it was incredible to hear her personal stories of tragedy, triumph, and her faith in God. If you’re a mom looking to integrate with other moms in your area, you can find info on the MOPS national site
here.
THREE. Salty and Sweet Treat.
I saw this recipe on Pinterest the other day and immediately stopped what I was doing to investigate the goodness in this salty/sweet concoction. Pretzels + marshmallows + chocolate + sprinkes=sign me up please! Not friendly on the calorie count, but sometimes you need to live a little đ
FOUR. Fall Time Fashion…Comfy and Cozy
Dressing during the crisp months in autumn has to be my most favorite time…pairing warm sweaters and tailored tops with skinnies and boots is the epitome of all things fall and this year I am finding some new looks I want to try myself. Here are a few looks I am loving:
Five. Savor September
I assume a lot of you know who
Lara Casey is…the creative genius behind
Southern Weddings magazine and
Making Brands Happen. For those that don’t, she is someone you should get to know via the world wide web. She is one inspiring woman and is the most captivating writer I’ve found in quite some time. She is always coming up with these fantastic ideas…social media free weekends (which I need to try) and most recently putting titles on each month to remind us of what’s important. This month is “Savor September” and I am going to try to do just that. I want to savor each thing that comes my way this month and savor all the blessings from God. My wish is that you’ll do the same.
Another Five on Friday down in the books…funny thing about blogging is that I love how I can revisit past posts whenever I want for a trip down memory lane. Anyways, make sure to check out my other gal pals posts for today’s roundup-
Darci,
Christina, and
April who co-host this lovely link-up with me. Have a great weekend lovelies!!

I LOVE those rooms!! Can't wait to see how your space looks!!
Which MOPS are you going to? I'm doing it for the first time this year at Harpeth in Franklin :).
The chalkboard wall is going to be awesome. I have such wonderful, heartstring-pulling memories of learning to write my ABCs on my Dad's lap in our home office, working under one of those brass lamps with the green glass shade. We used the back of manila envelopes for our practice paper. So amazing to think that you are building equally amazing memories with your girlies … tear!
I think there is something about school starting up and the holiday's looming that brings out the craft in us! I've been pinning DIY's like crazy….although I have yet to put the petal to the metal…Ha!
You will LOVE the chalkboard wall! I have a few chalkboard walls in my casa and painted for pantry doors with the chalkboard paint too and we all LOVE it! The little presidents are constantly using them, especially Reagan! đ
I have always thought about joining MOPs. It always sounds great!!
Love the fall looks! I am ready for fall weather! It's sooo hot here! Ahhh!

Pretzels + marshmallows + chocolate + sprinkles = AMAZING!!!!! Will have to try immediately!
Way to go mama with all your craftiness!!! I first looked at that chalk wall and was seriously like "did she do all of that this week"?!? I was about to text you to find out what I need to do to be equally as awesome! That wall looks amazing — such a great idea… excited to see how it turns out [signed, a chalk addict].
And I completely agree with you about Lara Casey – she is a phenomenal and inspiring writer, but above that, just someone that seems so relatable and kind. Pretty sure I'd hug her neck if I ever saw her and she clearly has no clue who I am!
Okay, I heart you girls. Excited to see this fun chalkboard wall {and extra props for getting Jeff to do all of the leg work —- hahah!!!!!}. XO!
I just joined our local MOPS here in the Memphis area. It seems like a sweet group of girls and I am very excited!!
