This was by far my favorite Mother’s Day that I have had so far…it was sweet, simple, relaxing, and genuine and the girls (i.e. Jeff) made it the best day I’ve had in a long time. He surprised me with lilies on Friday night when he got home from work and then Caroline told me “happy mudder’s day” about 2746 times this weekend, which made it even more special.
Alex helped the girls make some sweet, homemade gifts for me and these are for sure going to be laminated to keep in my “favorites” box so I can keep these forever. I got my favorite pancakes on Sunday morning and Jeff got up with both of the girls so I could sleep in for a bit…amazing what a little more sleep can do for you, right?
We then called all the grandmothers (Gran, Mimi, and Kaye) and made sure to tell them all how much we love them, too! Then we hopped into the stroller and made our way around the neighborhood for an early morning walk before it got hot. Once the girls went down for naps, I was able to head to do some solo shopping (my gift for the day!) and then we had Mimi and Pappy over for Sunday dinner to round out the day. Made me thankful for my two sweet babies, a husband that loves me unconditionally, a mom that continues to show me what a mother’s love is all about, and realize quality time is just what the heart needs. Hope you all had a sweet Mother’s Day, too!
