Five on Tuesday…Because I Can

Uncategorized

July 29, 2014

We might be taking a short, summertime hiatus from the Five on Friday weekly round-up, but that doesn’t mean we can’t touch base every now and then with things that are jumping out to us, even on a Tuesday 🙂
One. First up, a must in the maxi dress world…ya’ll know I’m a discount shopper when it comes to my wardrobe, and I bought the BEST maxi out there.
Even better, it’s on sale via Old Navy right now and it’s under $30…AND you can save an extra 30% off your order with online code BIGTIME (ends today). I promise you’ll love it, too!!

Two. I asked for an owl cookie jar for my birthday and I got it. Yes, I was like a kid in a candy store when I opened it, too! I’ve always wanted a fun, youthful cookie jar for the kiddos (and for Jeff and I to raid when we need a sweet), and this one fit the bill. You can find it at Target and it’s under $20. This would make an adorable housewarming gift.

Three. This book…I finished it in under a week, and for me that is REALLY fast considering I don’t read for lengthy stretches at night. I was hooked from the moment I started reading it, and it’s not my typical kind of read either. Now I am desperate to get Jeff to take me to see the movie! P.S. if you’re hormonal and/or pregnant, this may not be the best time to read this one 🙂 Can’t say I didn’t warn you!!
Four. I just got delivered the CUTEST waterproof name labels for Carson to take with her to MDO, which starts in just a few short weeks (here is the link). I ordered similar ones for Caroline last year and so she has extra to use again (shown here). This Etsy shop, Chevron Smiles, is so easy to work with, reasonably priced, and the stickers are great quality (after 284664 times in the dishwasher they are still going strong)
Five. We head to market next week and I am so excited to see what’s in store for Spring/Summer 2015 with some of my favorite lines for Sugar Bit. I have assembled a great team to come with me (yay Andrea and Jocelyn) and I know we are going to have a ball while we’re there. Always a little personal shopping on the side, too. Interested for any restaurant recommendations while we are there, as well since I know there are tons to take in!

  1. that book made me cry sooooo much! its a good read tho. xo jillian – cornflake dreams

  2. Meredith says:

I need to read that book. What a cute cookie jar and labels.

  3. I've seen those dresses at Old Navy and they are super cute! I can never find them long enough for my 5'9" frame though, since I like them to hit the floor!

  4. melissa says:

You'll have to let me know what you think of the movie. (Yes, I saw it pregnant. Crazy lady here!) I liked it but didn't love it. It just couldn't compare with the book and I had an issue with one aspect of the movie. I won't say too much so you can make up your own mind when you see it.

  5. Nina B. says:

Good luck sugar bit! so in love with your stuff for gorgeous presents!

  6. I'm reading that book too. Adorable cookie jar, I've always wanted one!

  7. Kristy Mays says:

I adore (and now really really want) the cookie jar!

  8. Carroll says:

What a great roundup! I'm dying over the cuteness of the owl cookie jar. 🙂

  9. KATIE says:

From Atlanta (and actually live in Nashville now) but you need to try Saltyward, Fritti, One Midtown or Anitco. Also for the best mexican go to Jalisco… very causal and is truly the best food!

  10. Nat says:

I loved the fault in our stars, I'm too scared to see the movie because I'm afraid my pregnancy hormones will make me cry the whole time! That owl cookie jar is too cute and what a fun idea!

  11. That book is next on my list! I can't wait to read it.
    Cute cookie jar!

  12. Andrea says:

Thanks for the tip about the Maxi dress! I need a few more to get through the rest of this summer being 7 months pregnant 🙂

  13. Ohhhh how I wish I could shop the ATL market with y'all! I second the Antico Pizza rec above. My sister and I went there on our last trip. It's BYOB and you sit at communal tables … IN the kitchen. It is also probably the best pizza I've ever tasted.

  14. LuLu says:

Is this the black maxi you had on in last weeks post from the beach? I have so manny but this does look fabulous and a lil dressier.

  15. Angie says:

I really love that maxi dress 🙂

  16. Candice Lynn says:

I want to go to market!!!

  17. Kristen O. says:

Yay!! So excited! Hope to see you there! <3

  18. I will be at market from Thursday to Monday, I hope I run into you!
