Five on Friday

Uncategorized

September 5, 2014

One. I’m obsessed with animals on everything when it comes to kids clothes…hence why Sugar Bit has a plethora of animal-themed goodies taking over our collection this fall. Check out these new arrivals below, which are ALL featured at 15% off with discount code FALL15 at checkout. Yes, foxes are still in this year, so don’t tell me otherwise.

Two. I feel like my house is NEVER going to be decorated and feel like our “home”. We have yet to hang but maybe 3 things on the walls and it still doesn’t feel like our space just yet. However, we have met with a fantastic designer this week and she is going to rescue us from a design disaster. I’m just so excited to redo another room (that isn’t a bathroom). I’m not bad at certain areas, but I get overwhelmed with specific rooms and my office is one of the first rooms you see when you enter our house so I want a pop of color and fun. Updates to come once we finalize an overall “look” for the space, but you can see my Office Space Pinterest Board for our inspiration.

Three. Football Season Makes Me Fat. I absolutely gain weight during the fall…blame it on my desire to bake, cook hearty meals, and “snack” all throughout football games (in person and on TV), but I must be stocking up for the harsh winter like a bear so I can go into full blown hibernation mode. Please tell me I am not alone??? I need to make sure I am hitting up the gym or else it ain’t gonna be pretty when spring rolls around. These football inspired dishes from Chickabug aren’t helping either…though they all look delish!

Four. Party Fun. Tonight, we’re off to celebrate three 30th birthdays for our friends…Meg, Jocelyn, and Ryan to be specific. Their significant others have whipped up quite a big bash and we can’t wait to celebrate them!! This quote pretty much sums up what I feel will be the theme of tonight’s festivities.

Five. Family Fun for Awareness. Tomorrow morning, Jeff and I are taking the girls to the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event. It’s a 5K for everyone to help raise awareness and money for Autism and one of Jeff’s coworkers daughters has Autism so we are excited to go support sweet Lily…amazing time for family and a great cause, too!

TGIF my dears…hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

  1. Jess Scott says:

Yes, gaining weight is totally normal during football season. 🙂 Have so much fun tonight and tomorrow – I teach special ed and have a special place in my heart for kiddos (and adults) with Autism. Such a great way to raise awareness!! And, I cannot wait to see your office!!! I know it will turn out perfectly!!! Happy Weekend!

  2. Every year I gain the "Fall 15" because of all the delicious meals that need to be cooked! I am convinced it's our bodies getting into hibernation mode for the winter, I'm so with you on that 😉

  3. Meredith says:

I love fall and all the goodies that go with it, but I will definitely have to pick-up my running more so I can eat. 😉 Can't wait to watch your house progress as it goes along. Happy Friday!

  4. Katie says:

Love this list! Fall is when you'd think I'm hibernating as well, but after a summer of salads and grilling, I love nothing more than making warm, hearty meals and snacking on football foods! As for the foxes… my maiden name is Fox and I'm feeling a tad bit sentimental about "losing" it in November when I get married, so I (not so) secretly wanting to stock up on EVERYTHING fox, including baby clothes for currently non-existent babies. Call me crazy, but I can't help it with all of the cuteness! Have a fabulous weekend 🙂

  5. Jillian says:

that party food looks sooo good! xo jillian – cornflake dreams

  6. Ida Arias says:

  7. Paige Viollt says:

  8. Jen B says:

Adorable baby goodies! And putting on a little "winter coat" is always a good idea!

  9. Have a great weekend! Sounds super busy 🙂 Looking forward to hearing more about your office!

  10. Nat says:

Football season merging right into the holidays is the worst!! Plus putting on more layers always makes me think it's of if I just have one more brownie! We've been in our house for 1.5 years and it still feels so incomplete to me- we're slowly working through it room by room but I don't know if it will ever be "finished"

  11. The fall is the yummiest time of the year! IT just wouldn't be right if you didn't indulge some.

  12. Traci says:

Ohhhh, I know exactly what you mean about football season making you fat. In fact, I've used the bear hibernating line, myself! It carries an extra dread this year because I have no idea how I'm supposed to lose baby weight (from back to back pregnancies, might I add) during a season full of pumpkin bread, chili, and all that. And then it's the holidays? Serious struggles over here! Also, I'm loving those pjs at your shop! I'm feeling like my daughter needs some soon!

  13. The A Team says:

I love the football goodies. Will you be doing the link up Five on Friday again this year?

  14. Oh my goodness, the fox romper is too cute! My son needs it!
