It’s been awhile since I’ve updated on here about my littlest mini AKA crazy girl Carson so I thought I would write a synopsis about what Miss Sassypants is up to these days!
Hey Nugget…
You keep us on our toes, that’s all I can say my dear. You have ZERO fear and will do anything to keep daddy and I paying very close attention. You love to climb, jump, and run and are the most active 18 month old I’ve encountered. You are so opposite from your sister and now I am eating my words about how “easy” you once were…
In terms of activity/entertainment/and the such, you enjoy being outside, going on adventures in the car, playing dress-up with sister, building blocks, taking your new baby Abby for a walk in her little stroller around the house, and we lovingly call you “Tink” because you are the essence of a tinkerer. You’re curious about anything and everything and disregard when we tell you something is dangerous…you’d simply rather find out for yourself! The funny thing is that you are the most sensitive toddler and you get your feelings hurt easily, especially when it comes to sharing, getting something you want, and being held by your mama. Yes, I’m a pushover, and I’m guilty about “babying” you…I simply can’t help myself though and this time is passing by so quickly that I want to savor every ounce of it, especially when all you want is me (attachment parenting at its finest).
You still LOVE to eat and it never ceases to amaze me at how much you devour when we sit down at the table…your favs are still any kind of pasta, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fruit snacks/pouches, yogurt, sausage and biscuits, oranges, berries, and cereal. You are a big fan of most any kind of fruit, though your tastebuds must have changed in the veggie department because that’s been a bit of a struggle the past few months. You’re still the messiest eater, but it’s so much fun to see you get excited and giddy to eat each day. We’ve been slacking in the eating utensil department, but we will be working on that so that you master a spoon and fork before your 2nd birthday! This also makes for a fun bathtime spectacle, which you LOVE.
As for growth, you weighed over 23 pounds at your 18 month checkup, are 75% in height, and 90% your your sweet noggin…you have SO many teeth now that I can’t count (partly because you’re a bit of a biter and I’m scared to stick my finger in there). Your molars are in and we definitely went through a rough patch, but sleeping has gone back to normal and you usually sleep from 8PM to 7AM, and take one 2+ hour long afternoon nap each day. Yes, you’ve been a great sleeper from the time you entered this world and for that I am thankful.
You’re blossoming at Mother’s Day Out and you’ve taken to the actual routine of it now, which makes drop-off and pickup much more enjoyable for everyone concerned. You’ve made a handful of the cutest arts and crafts at school and of course we proudly display those, as well as sisters, all over the house…proud accomplishments for sure!
There is never a dull moment when you’re around Little Bit… you make so much more fun and that contagious smile of yours is amazing. You’ve started doing this scowl/frown face when you don’t get your way and it’s one of those times I find myself turning the other way so you can’t see me giggle. Your best friend is still hoppy, your stuffed bunny, but sister surely comes in a close second, and you’re always one step behind her and trying to keep up.
Your vocabulary has REALLY started taking off as of late and you’re saying all kinds of words…love to hear that sweet little voice of yours and I can already tell you’re going to be talking a mile a minute soon enough…watch out world!
Carson, you’re amazing in so many ways and every day gets better and better and better…I’m so excited for all the fun things we have coming up and getting to experience all these firsts all over again with you.
I love you the mostest Carson Elizabeth!
