ONE || Adults Love to Color, Too

Research has shown that adults can de-stress from using coloring books… ummm yes sign me up! Recently, I was stumbled across Escape Artists Color which is a modern coloring book shop for older kids like me = pure genius!
Founded by two women and recently launched in July 2015, their curated collection includes a postcard set for sending illustrations to friends, a geometrics book which is serving me as a nighttime activity instead of watching TV, and you can download PDF pages if you are looking for instant coloring page options. Wanting to purchase now? Use discount code YAYCOLOR for free shipping… this has stocking stuffer written all over it!!

TWO || Mad for Plaid

I know, I’m turning into  lumberjack prepster plaid loving woman who cannot stay away from all things plaid… I’m going mad I tell you! From scarves to skirts and way too many shirts to count, this style is going to be my “theme” this fall it seems as all these new goodies are happily hanging in the closet. Never enough plaid!

THREE || FOUND Pop-Up Shop
Love finding vintage, one-of-a-kind goods? Nashville friends… come shop with my fav interior designer Kendall Simmons AND the fabulous Brittney Forrister at FOUND, a curated pop up shop! They’ve traveled all over and have brought back unique finds from Istanbul and Paris… Turkish rugs and pillows, artwork, accessories, and vintage clothing, too! Details included in the attached graphic. I will be there with bells on!

FOUR || All Things Draper James

Wednesday night, my gal pal Rachel and I headed to the Grand Opening Party for the Draper James flagship store on 12th South… and needless to say, my girl Reese put on quite a party for her Nashville friends! We were so excited to be there, gallivanting around and shopping the store, and of course checking out big style celebs who were in attendance [Faith Hill, Reba, Holly Williams, Lily Aldridge, and Reese just to name a few]. After the party, we walked over to the brand new Bartaco that just opened… another Music City establishment that’s sure to be a local fav with their yummy sangria, pork belly tacos, and gelato that I cannot not order.

FIVE || Family Comes First
This week, my family went through a very scary situation as my aunt was admitted to the hospital, had to have fairly extensive emergency surgery, and the outlook didn’t look good for what could be the cause of her issues {especially when the word cancer gets mentioned more than a few times]. Without getting into too much detail, we prayed hard and our prayers were answered and under the circumstances she has been given very good news from the surgeons about her recovery.
In saying all this, I just want to reiterate what I always seem to say, family comes first. Life happens and it’s crazy, but my family dropped everything they had going on and left work to be by her side and for me that what it’s all about. Don’t ever waste an opportunity to tell your family you love them friends… life is too short and they are what truly matters in this world.

    The Draper James event looked awesome! Glad you were able to attend! Also glad to hear that your Aunt is doing ok, sending more prayers though!! 🙂

  2. I am so jealous you got to go to the Draper James opening! I'm obsessed with everything they have!! I love the dress you wore too!

    Glad the prayers are working for your aunt- family really is everything. Happy Friday!

  3. Great post! I agree that coloring can be very relaxing and I love the idea of the postcards. My blog/business partner were in Nashville last weekend to see Jason Isbell at the Ryman. Nashville is such an awesome city! We went to 5th and Taylor and Rolf and Daughters for dinner. It was a great time! Did not make it to Draper James but did go to Emerson Grace which I LOVED.

    Just ordered a plaid scarf that I'm hoping I'll get soon! Also I love coloring and will have to check that shop out. I bought my last one on Amazon. My mom wants to color but the books she sees are too intricate. That one you have pictured looks like it would be good for her.

  7. First, glad things went well for your aunt! God is good alllll the time, I truly believe that. But stories like this make me so happy. Secondly, the Draper James event looked incredible. What did you think of the quality of the items? I mean it's Reese so I trust her. Haha

  8. Not A Mom says:

    I followed the DJ event on instagram and it looked so fun! That totes y'all bag has been on my wishlist for sometime now!
