Oh The Joys of Laundry… Smart Technology with LG Washers and Dryers

Uncategorized

December 1, 2015

Household chores… you know you have to do them, yet it’s not your favorite task to complete, am I right?!?! I’m all about finding fun ways to get my girls helping me when it comes time to tackle our weekly home to-do list and today I am here on behalf of my friends at LG Electronics to talk about laundry appliances.
In terms of a technological family, we are “modern” in that my husband and I both are owners in businesses and neither have us have the normal Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 job… we have to get creative when it comes to keeping up the home and are always looking for ways to get our kids involved AND make it fun to them, too!
Chaos is an understatement when it comes to our normal schedule between ballet lessons, mother’s day out mornings, hectic travel, and such but we make the time we have together count… it’s all about quality over quantity, and I think LG stands firm in delivering high value products for families where multitasking and reliability is essential.
You may know LG’s complete lineup of home appliances, including refrigerators, cooking appliances, dishwashers, as well as their washer and dryer options… I love the fact they focus on creating feature-rich options, but they pursue stylish designs and push the technological boundaries to improve a consumers’ experience, saving them time and energy, so that us crazy busy families get to spend more time focusing on the things we enjoy most!
Laundry is a seemingly never-ending task with two little ones, a husband, and of course my items added to the mix… it’s something I try to take on every few days so that our piles don’t constantly overflow the laundry baskets, but let’s face it… life happens and we get out of sync and forget to wash until a certain item is desperately needed. And in my home, those said items include tutus and princess dresses 😉

LG’s Mega-Capacity Top-Load laundry pair [Models WT7700 and DLEX7700VE] offers enhanced convenience and performance and has the largest capacity top load washer in its class*, with the ability to wash a king size comforter and full set of bedding in a single load… ummm yes please!

Additional features: The LG Top-Load Washer incorporates LG’s time-saving TurboWash®, which provides 30-minutes of time savings on every cycle, while the EasyLoad™ Dryer features TurboSteam™, working gently but powerfully to refresh fabrics and reduce wrinkles in half the time of other steam settings. LG’s Dryer with EasyLoad™ Door is the first to open two ways – from the top (AKA hamper style) to easily toss in wet clothes from the washer and sideways to quickly unload dry clothes into the laundry basket… genius!!
The LG Top-Load Washer and EasyLoad™ Dryer are available at leading retailers nationwide, including Sears, Lowe’s, Best Buy, The Home Depot, and H.H.Gregg, among others. Pricing for the washer is under $1,500 and the dryers are $1,600 and $1,700 depending on gas/electric options.

  1. Ms. B says:

Best thing I've found to combat Laundry Mountain at my house is a laundry basket with separate sections for light/dark/red (we're big Georgia fans, so lots of red around here!) and doing a load of laundry every day….a little bit every day, instead of a huge pile on the weekends, makes this Mama much happier!

  2. For right now, it's just me and my hubby so we don't have quite as much laundry as a large family. Laundry is my "chore" though, so I try to make it as painless as possible by doing as much as possible in front of the TV- fold and sort in the living room and move the laundry during commercials. Then, I forget I'm even doing it!

  3. We are a family of four and do two loads of laundry everyday. I start one load as soon as I get home from work, and then start the second load before kids bath time. Both loads are dry by bedtime. If I miss a day, it really adds up and the weekends are awful.

  4. Adelyn V says:

Full disclosure–I HATE laundry. We are a family of three and our laundry room is in the basement. I would SO love for it to be on the first or second floor of our house for convenience sake, but such is life. I have been guilty of letting laundry pile up for way too long. I've found forcing myself to run a load several times a week (rather than just waiting to do it on weekends), and IMMEDIATELY bringing the laundry basket up with the clean clothes and folding and putting them away with no delay works best.

  5. Tara Smith says:

We are a family of four, and I do at least one load of laundry everyday or every other day. That keeps it manageable!

  6. Darcy Potter says:

Well considering my washer just went out and my dryer is well on its way, we could definitely use a new set 🙂 I do a lot of laundry and always using full capacity so these LG's would be perfect!

  8. Susieutk84 says:

I've found that doing a load of laundry of day really helps keep the flow moving. We run out basics and towels daily, and on the weekends, wash our work/dress clothes.

  9. Andrea says:

As much as i didn`t want to do it, running at least one load per day really helps our household along!

  10. Emily says:

If I miss one day of laundry I get so behind! It is never ending with little ones running around making messed and playing outside.

  11. grantsly says:

I do at least a load every single day. I am obsessed with not having a laundry room full of dirty clothes on the weekends!!

  12. I got a 3 bag cart that rolls around the house. It makes things a lot easier!

  13. Jessica says:

With three boys in the house I feel like I am constantly doing laundry!! I try to do a load every day or every other day so it doesn't get piled up by the weekend!

  14. rachel says:

I can only do laundry during naptime so I have to keep on top of it!

  15. I have separate baskets for everything! Whites, jeans, towels, colors! It just helps make sure nothing gets ruined!

  16. KELLI says:

Everyone puts their clothes in separate baskets in laundry room. When basket is full. I wash. Kids fold and put away. I usually do 1 load every day or 2.

  17. Jessica says:

I try to tackle at least one load of laundry a day- keeps piles of laundry from building up! I also have a laundry hamper with three compartments so I don't have to constantly sort items 🙂

  18. JC says:

We usually do laundry twice a week, pre-treat stains and spots with magic cleaner (hydrogen peroxide+Dawn) makes all the difference.

  19. imbigwillie says:

I don't sort the laundry at all .. I just throw everything into the washer.

  23. Julie Wood says:

I disignate a laundry hamper for each room. Wash often-do not let clothes pile up and make it take all day to do. Quickly unwrinkle clothing by taking them out of the dryer when dry and not letting them sit in the dryer and get wrinkles.Add Lavender oil to your linens rinse cycle to help you sleep at night! I hope these tips help. And also get the kids to help with laundry.

I sort the clothes into different hampers and wash all of the clothes by load according to their instructions so nothing gets ruined.

  27. The only tip I really have for doing laundry is getting a hamper that allows you to presort your laundry. It's one less thing to do when your getting ready to wash your clothes.

  28. Natalie says:

As soon as my clothes get dirty I put them in the washer and then wait until there is a full load to actually put the soap in and wash them. That way dirty clothes are not thrown all over the house. yarbr012@gmail.com

  29. Madeline B says:

My trick is to listen to audiobooks while I do laundry to make it more enjoyable.

  30. Elle says:

If I have more than 1 load to do, I always try to do the lightest things that will dry fastest first because the last thing I want is the stuff to be done in the washing machine but the stuff in the dryer to still be wet.

  37. Anne says:

Although there are just two of us in the house, I do a lot of laundry. We each keep a separate hamper (I don't know how or why that started, but it works for us), and a couple of times a week I pull out the whites, colors, or reds. I always run a full load, except when my spouse just needs a couple of business shirts. Fortunately, a good washer helps there, and I just run an "express wash" load. No big secrets here, but I hope it helps!

  65. angie lilly says:

If you are like me and have a cruddy front loading Samsung, do very small loads and use the extra rinse cycle to TRY to get your clothing clean. If you do regular size loads, even in the high capacity washers, they will NOT get clean and will stink.

I spray the stain remover & "pre-treat" as soon as I'm aware of the stain/ the clothing goes into the laundry basket- so at least it has time (or a few days) to work before the laundry is done
