A New Year with FTD… Fresh Florals for the Foyer

Uncategorized

January 8, 2016

For 2016, I’m vowing to take risks, try new experiences, put my fears aside and welcome this year with open arms… and that means to celebrate everything. The past is the past and it’s time to get excited for all that 2016 has to offer.
I’m venturing outside my comfort zone and I’m going out into the deep end, attempting to overcome my black thumb, as we recently brought this gorgeous new orchid into our home. No, I have never owned one before because I’ve always been scared I would kill it, and now I am promising myself I will take care of this beauty that I scored from my friends at FTD

As a symbolic gesture of entering the fresh year in full bloom, I’ve placed our new orchid in our entryway, so that everyone can see it when they come into our casa.

Flowers make me happy and I can’t lie, I’m usually the one who splurges and buys them for myself because they spruce up spaces and totally make a home more inviting. Love language, perhaps???
Looking for a new indoor plant to inspire you for 2016? I love this infographic based on light, green thumb rating, space dimensions, etc… may just help you pick!

Tell me, where is your favorite room to have fresh flowers? And by all means, if you have ANY advice on how to care for an orchid, please leave some love below!

  1. Julie says:

I have never been able to continually keep orchids alive but if you drop two ice cubes in each week, it should be good.

  2. It is beautiful. I just started with easy succulents. I don't know if I could do an orchid. But gorge!

  3. Vanessa says:

I second the ice cube trick–works like a charm! The orchid is beautiful and your pink lamps are GORG!!!
