Oh goodness, it’s time to talk about a new room we’re in the process of decorating… the guest bedroom AKA the room I’d actually love to live in. We are moving away from the dining room [don’t worry as a full show and tell feature is coming up as soon as everything is in its place], but now it’s time to share a little love with our overnight guests.
I started by creating a Pinterest board called The Guest Bedroom: Home Away From Home, and sent the inspiration over to Kendall so she could see what I was envisioning… we have already painted the walls Sea Salt at 50% so I want to keep that color, but I also told her I wanted it to be cheerful with colorful accents, furniture that was classic in design, and a room that made you want to come in and kick your shoes off and stay awhile.
She ended up selecting these photos for the overall inspiration:
I am also fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Crane & Canopy for this room redesign, and selected the Linden Black Border Duvet and Euro Shams for the crisp, clean white bedding with black piping. Love the simple styling with the added black detail, which will make the bed pop against the pale blue wall color.
And to share a bit more inspiration, of course I need to give a tiny sneak peak of the colorful accents and details that will make this room truly shine!

We have a few more things to select before we can move forward, but I am ecstatic about the progress we’ve made so far and I am happy Jeff is jumping on board with my love of color and bold prints and patterns throughout our home.
So tell me, what makes a fun guest room when you travel to a friends’ house? A welcome basket, fresh flowers on a side table? All opinions and thoughts appreciated!

I am recently into bright colors as well. I love a muted wall color with bright accents. That clear chair in the first picture gives me life! Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I am all about color and pattern girl! i get so sick of all the blah, beige rooms which I feel like are so in style. I have 2 kids and a dog (and a husband!). We don't do white.
