Oh goodness… where do I start?!?! We look forward to this week away every year, and each time it gets better and better. The girls are at such a fun age when it comes to the beach and I am thrilled to be able to share these moments with them as Jeff and I both took an entire week of from work [and no, that doesn’t happen but 1-2 times a year].
Sharing our family and friend trip with you over the next week, broken down in a few day installments so I can be sure to highlight our favorite hotspots, restaurants, activities and such, all in our go-to family beach destination,
Rosemary Beach, Florida.
Starting off early Saturday morning, we hit the road at 6:30am to try to make the most of our day and arrive early! Daddy was impressed with us girls as we only had to make two stops before arriving to 30A at lunchtime. First up was a trip to The Hub for some BBQ pork sandwiches via Local Smoke. For those unfamiliar with The Hub, it’s basically a backyard party patio with tons of open air eateries with live entertainment, a huge screen showing sports, movies, etc and it’s the perfect spot to take little ones!
Luckily for us, the house we rented for the week was ready for us when we finished so we headed there to unpack and unwind… we stayed at
Stillwater Cottage and I cannot say enough great things about the house! Spacious enough for all of us, amazing outdoor patios and swings ideal for families with young children, a private pool for afternoon swim sessions, a killer outdoor grill and kitchen area, open layouts, and centrally located close to the town square and the beach.
That afternoon, we let the girls dive right in and relaxed a bit while everyone else arrived. Saturday night, the boys hit up our favorite pizzeria,
Angelina’s in Seagrove Beach, and we took it easy the rest of the evening.
Sunday morning, we celebrated Mother’s Day to which I was gifted with the sweetest and most thoughtful cards and gifts… my little gals and Jeff know the key to my heart [i.e. coffee and handmade goodies].
That morning, we headed straight to the beach to find our umbrella and chair spots we had reserved and couldn’t believe how peaceful it was! The weather was absolutely amazing ALL week. Sunday afternoon, the boys took over and us girls headed straight to Seaside for a late lunch and cocktails at Great Southern Cafe, another favorite that’s always a hit for our crew. Us girls relaxed, enjoyed some adults conversation, some shopping at Perspicasity, Duckies, and the Seaside Style Store, and then headed back to the beach for a bit before going inside to get ready for dinner.
That night, the boys headed up dinner in the kitchen and spoiled us silly with a proper surf and turf dinner after the little ones went to bed… it was the perfect ending to a sweet day from the hubbies and kiddos and we were all completely exhausted after stuffing ourselves with way too much food and wine!
my sweet babies and Auntie A… we were so happy she came again this year!!
Our peeps… gosh it’s fun doing life with people you love!
Stay tuned for the rest of the week’s goodness… and as always, happy to answer any questions about 30A/Rosemary Beach!!!
Looks like so much fun!! I always love living vicariously through your Seaside vacays!!!! I've got a refrigerator whiteboard countdown going for our trip to Port St Joe, FL — 26 days and counting! Definitely keep us posted on any advice for keeping minis entertained at the beach. Love your littles' seersucker floppy hats! (Now, if only I could train Lilly to keep something on her head…)
that countdown is getting smaller!!!! ohhh goodness, for entertainment, i recommend plenty of sand castle toys, puddle jumpers, kites, a mini pop-up tent, a blow up pool, and PLENTY of snacks!!!!
