Gotta go back, back, back to school again… please tell me this makes you think of Grease 2?? Oh this brings back my adolescence and how much I LOVED to watch that movie… today I’m here to talk all things back to school with Igloo and sharing some of our favorite snacks, lunch options, and such so your cuties will be all set to tackle the cafeteria in style!
I can remember browsing the aisles of our local stores for THE perfect lunchbox [Lisa Frank or Hello Kitty anyone??]... one that was cute and color coordinated, though my mom was always in the search of the one that had the most compartments and made it easy to pack my lunch efficiently.
Igloo offers the best in cooler bag performance for your kiddos and go well with you without compromising on style… their bright colors, patterns, and shapes keep you looking good and your lunches fresh!
My girls and I picked out the Black and White Gingham Dual Comp, which contains a top and bottom compartment with zippers for both. I love the shape, functionality, and of course the preppy gingham colorway and Caroline is excited to use this cooler tote for her Mother’s Day Out lunches!
We packed it with a PB&J sandwich [heart shaped of course], pretzels, raspberries, and broccoli with ranch… her favorite MDO lunch combo! We use these storage containers to keep everything tidy and organized and these labels which make it easy for this mama when packing lunches. And don’t forget about the Snack Bag for keeping her refrigerated items cool for school.
For Carson, she wanted something she could carry over her shoulder [like her beloved purses] so she selected the Hot Brights Mini Tote in Purple. It features a front zipper pocket for her utensils, and a large main section for storing her go-to lunch, consisting of sausage and pesto tortellini, pretzels, blackberries, and carrots with dipping sauce. And last but not least, these Maxcold Natural Ice Packs keep those fruits and veggies fresh and chilly so they are good to eat at lunchtime.
Let’s face it, those Pinterest-perfect lunch ideas are fun to look at, and I’m guilty of pinning them with the best intentions to make lunches that look great, but practicality comes back into play with week two of school so this mama usually sticks to the components I know will get eaten. I did find THIS PIN, which is a step-by-step guide of how to pack a school lunch, which comes in very helpful when you’re trying to throw things together before school on days where your imagination is less than exciting.
