stonekings do disney || days 4 and 5

vacation

November 1, 2016

Late to the party?!?! Read here for the play-by-play on Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

Day 4 started off at Epcot with an early morning breakfast at Akerhaus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway. The park opened that morning at 9AM and we had reservations at 9:15, so it was perfect for us to get in and get fed! We had planned for the girls to wear new Jasmine outfits for the princess breakfast, but CC decided she wanted to wear a dress [PS pick your battles while on vacation for everyone’s sanity..hahaha].
We absolutely loved the food and experience… full buffet full of fruit, eggs, bacon, cheeses, and danishes so everyone found something they enjoyed! The princesses also walked to each table for autograph signing and picture opportunities and we got to add Belle to our list for this breakfast, which made Carson giddy to no end.
From there, we made our way around each of the countries that make up Epcot… it had been years since I had visited the park and it’s crazy to think how much differently you appreciate it as an adult.  We went during the International Food and Wine Festival, so there were a ton of people partaking in cocktails and tasting menus and they definitely had a lot of ways to sample the goods!
We made it to the new Frozen Ever After ride for our FastPass time and were thankful to have FP for that attraction because the regular line was almost 1.5 hours long. It was THE cutest ride and the girls loved it. We also rode the Gran Fiesta Boat Tour, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Spaceship Earth before doing the full walking tour of all the countries. For lunch, we ate at La Cantina de San Angel [note that there is PLENTY of indoor dining], devoured fresh caramel and candy at Karamell-Küche, and then had our table service dinner at Chefs de France, which was awesome! We had great intentions of staying for the late night fireworks, but after dinner, we decided it was time to call it a night and head to bed… smart planning, indeed 😉

Day 5 AKA Wednesday, we headed straight to Animal Kingdom early in the morning so we could try to see as many animals as possible before it got too hot. Kilimanjaro Safaris was our very first FP for the day, and the one we knew the girls would be most excited about, so we knocked it out early… it was absolutely fantastic, seeing all the animals in their habitats, learning more about them, etc and I would recommend this for everyone!!! We then made our way over to the Festival of the Lion King show which was a blast… audience involvement, loads of singing and dancing, and colorful costumes, too. Afterwards, we walked across to Tamu Tamu to partake in the famous Dole Whip everyone raves about… and yes, add in the Coconut Rum, you won’t be disappointed. Pappy, Jeff, and Caroline also rode the Kali River Rapids while Mimi, Carson, and I took pictures of them… CC loved the water ride!

We had planned lunch at Flame Tree BBQ and of course the boys couldn’t wait to eat… and yet again, another great pic that we loved!! That afternoon, Mimi, Pappy and I took on Expedition Everest, by far my favorite new ride of the trip, and then we rounded out our day by doing the TriceraTop Spin and by visiting Dino-Land for some carnival games.
We then decided to head back to the hotel so the girls us adults could rest up before heading to dinner… and yes, I think we all needed a nap by mid-week.

Around 5PM, we headed to the Polynesian Resort to make our 6PM reservations for Ohana, which turned out to be our favorite dining experience, for the adults at least, all week. The food is family-style, OH so good, and it was a nice, relaxing atmosphere… loved everything about the Polynesian Resort, too! They had entertainment throughout dinner with singing and dancing with the kids so that made the girls excited to get to show off their dance moves before heading back to Animal Kingdom Lodge for bedtime.

One more day to recap!!! Stay tuned for the Grand Finale, as Pappy would say 😉
