When we last left off, we were taking a stroll through our Master Bathroom and I was thrilled to hear how much you loved the space! For today’s show and tell, we are heading upstairs to have a little peak at the newly finished PLAYROOM, also known as Caroline and Carson’s over-the-top colorful space that was made for everything girly and dress up, crafting + coloring and all things relaxation!
In thinking of what we wanted this space to be, so much of our home was geared towards our adult tastes and preferences, while still being kid-friendly. Having said that, Kendall knew I wanted this room to be ALL about my babies, suiting their needs now and into the future as they grow, too. Perfect for playdates, gaming, watching TV, reading and more, it’s the happiest playroom design EVER…
When people first walk into the playroom, their first question is ALWAYS “where did you get that couch?”… and yes, it’s as comfy and amazing as it appears in real life. Kendall first showed us the famous Dr. Pitt Sofa after we were well into the design of the interior of our home renovation and I went NUTS over it… once I got Jeff to go into Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams to check it out for himself for a little sitting session, he was SOLD and we ordered it that day!
It’s the BEST.. the girls love it, and our foursome can easily all watch movies together on lazy afternoons, too… perfect for lounging and tickle fights and yes you can remove the cushion covers and wash them so it’s most certainly family friendly.
Fun yet functional.. it boasts a TON of storage with navy bookcases as well as these rainbow colored book shelves that are packed full of punchy + bright hues! They happily display all of our prized books and are just the perfect accent to the playroom walls.
On the opposite wall you’ll find my only requirement for the playroom design–an entire wall dedicated to both Caroline and Carson’s art… nothing is of more value to me than these sentimental drawings, sketches and masterpieces and the amount of pride they have in knowing it has a permanent place in our home is just incredible to me. We used simple what frames for each selected piece and we absolutely love looking at their incredible visions= hands down my favorite of the colorful playroom ideas and one that’s affordable to execute as well!
Another one of my favorite design details of the playroom is the wall of family portraits and photos… sometimes I get overly emotional and sentimental over the imagery contained within these pictures, but it’s a timeline of our little family’s history, favorite places we have visited, yearly photos as my babies grow, oh goodness it’s just absolutely picture perfect–I mean what mama doesn’t want to see their babies all over their walls, right?!?!?!
Finally, I wanted to highlight the Flor Tiles that Kendall recommended for the playroom. Since our entire home is hardwoods, it can be tricky to find just the perfect rugs for spaces like this that are large enough to cover the wood, yet durable enough for kids–these carpet tiles were the perfect solution for us. They assemble into whatever size “grid” you need and you can order as many as you need to fill a space. Even better, if something happens that won’t come out, simply change it out for a new one… P.S. order a few more than you need and you’ll be glad you did because life happens!!

This playroom is amazing and I want that couch!!
thank you so much sweet friend… we certainly love it!!!
why didn’t you show a picture of the fourth wall? GOMI just loves your couch by the way haha
the fourth wall didn’t have the console table when it was photographed, but now it houses a large cabinet and TV… and i’m not sure what that GOMI comments refers to as I don’t read that website 🙂 have a great day!
Wow what a dream playroom! I’m in the process of piecing together my daughter’s play room and this is giving me so much inspiration!
i’m so glad it’s helping… my girls love it and it’s great for family movie night, too!!!
Hello! Where did you get the white drawing paper dispenser? Did it come on the table or did you attach it? Thanks!
