a tween take on a bathroom redo

Uncategorized

April 4, 2025

Ohhhh a little Friday happy headed your way. It’s been FOREVER since I’ve gotten the chance to chat all things home decor + design and I have MISSED it so much… after all Jeff and I always love a project!

I’ve been hinting about some new renovations we decided to tackle at the house this year and I am thrilled to chat about the first space… Carson’s brand new bathroom! Back when we did our huge house reno back in 2018 we decided not to change her space = one because we had made a few changes the year before [white subway tile, simple white vanity, etc… you can see her bathroom as it currently looks here] but of course now our trendy little tween has LOADS of opinions on what she wants her bathroom to look like and everything she wants–and doesn’t want– so we’ve been perusing Pinterest the past few months to get an idea of the overall inspiration she was thinking of.

Think baby blue bows with classic, clean white lines by way of marble tile and vertically stacked tile. She wants timeless and chic but of course lots of room in her vanity for organizing all her favorite makeup and beauty favs! And of course, we’ll be integrating a few other hues like light pink as accents… my most favorite part is dreaming of the original art we can incorporate too!

The biggest change we are planning is to bid adieu to is the built in tub = my girls have both requested walk-in showers and I am not too sad about it considering I am not a bath girl myself… I much prefer a shower! So we started there with the initial design and inspiration and went from there. Since my mini-me is all about anything LoveShackFancy, she also picked this Baby Bow Wallpaper once she saw it online.

And yes, this is where I have to give in a little bit… letting her make some of the initial selects and then putting my own spin on it with additional design details. I am thrilled with the plan Meg White Interiors has curated for her all new baby blue and white bathroom = an all new custom vanity with scallop woodwork from our favorite cabinet maker Mark Casserly and incredible tile we picked on a recent shopping trip to Ann Sacks Tile.

As of now, we’ve picked out the big items and now are focused on all the decorative elements = which is where my color-loving heart comes into play. Onto fabrics for window treatments, all the accessories and fabulous art of course… this is going to be fun! Lots more to come in the next few months once we finish everything up, so stay tuned friends!
