Taylor has the best topics on her Top 2 Tuesday posts… not going to lie, this one is one that will most certainly make you rack your brain as I did, but it’s also a “bucket list” of sorts and of course we all have things we want to cross of our list before our time is complete. Mine are these:
Top 2 Things You Want to Do Before You Die
1. Own my own business…as much as I love working in corporate America, I would love nothing more than to be able to pursue my dream and open my own store! Though Jeff is already wanting me to start planning for my potential business, I am the one who is the scaredy-cat always thinking ‘what if it’s not successful’, bla bla bla… I know you have to take chances, but failure is not a word in my vocabulary so I am a little more hesitant to put myself out there in the world of small businesses. Ideally, my soon-to-be shop would include all things gift related: wedding, hostess, and baby gifts, invitations {and calligraphy of course}, personalized paper and stationery, and who knows–maybe even some boutique-style dresses and fashion for the southern gal. That would be the life!
2. Have a baby {or two or three}… as much as other things can help make your world complete, I don’t think there is one single thing I’d rather do on Earth than become a Mom. Being surrounded by such a loving family since I was little, I can’t help but hope I get to have that experience as a woman someday–Jeff and I love kids and can only dream about the day when God blesses us with a family of our own {even though that is definitely far into the future!!} Yes, my family is constantly wishing and hoping we have kids sooner than later because they love the little ones, so hopefully that wish can come true at some point in my life.

My first job was at a family owned small gift shop and I loved it! Now I'm a Director of Retail Operations for a baseball team and as much as I love it I would love even more to have a store of my own.
Especially with you planning a family in the not to distant future having your own store means setting your own hours and being able to bring your kids to work. The kids of the family I worked for grew up in the shop and it worked perfectly.
Good luck and follow your dreams no matter how scary it may seem now.
