38 Weeks…I Wish I Was Patient

Uncategorized

March 6, 2012

How Far Along? 38 weeks, 4 days… 11 days to go
Size of Caroline? Multiple options this week…some say
a leek, some say a pumpkin! Either way, she is about 19.75 inches long and
weighs 6.8 pounds
Maternity Clothes? Still with the yes and no…it’s
whatever covers my belly these days—outfit selection in the morning is
definitely taking a bit longer than I prefer
Weight Gain? Still at 28 pounds, even after all those cupcakes I
consumed this weekend
Stretch Marks? Thank you Lord no!
Gender? A sweet baby girl!
Sleep? One night it’s great and the next, I can’t seem to turn my mind
off. Just this morning I woke up ready to take on the day, yet it was only 4AM—this
is just a taste of what’s to come, I know it
Food Cravings? I seriously cannot eat enough
doughnuts! Don’t forget about the peanut butter, bananas, and cereal, too
What I Miss? Being able to do “normal” activities
without getting tired, wearing high heels, running and the occasional cocktail—soon
my friends, soon
Symptoms? Loads of Braxton Hicks contractions,
puffiness in my legs at the end of the day, and general lack of the ability to
get “comfy”
Belly Button? Half in and half out
Best Moment of the
Week?
Progress yesterday at my doctor’s appt…that makes 2CM dilated
and apparently a quickly thinning cervix (words I never thought I would
disclose this on here)
—sorry if it’s TMI, but for someone who is ready for
peanut to come, any type of progress is better than nothing at all. The bets
have officially started as to when Caroline will come.
This
Friday is my last day at work and I am through the roof excited! It’s
crazy to be wrapping up so many odds and ends and miscellaneous projects. I’m
going to be taking 11-12 weeks off, depending on the exact arrival date, and I
feel so fortunate to be able to take so much time off from the corporate world
to savor every moment of this special time.
How
will I ever keep myself occupied you ask? I’m going to be a lady who lunches,
walks around the mall, takes little bit to the park for afternoon adventures,
and anything else we can manage to get into…sounds like a perfect spring to me!

I am a new follower – just discovered your darling blog last week! I spent the whole weekend reading several months back and I am SO happy I found your blog! You are so beautiful, cheerful, upbeat and happy! I am very excited for you to be a mommy so soon! I know you're super busy getting ready for Miss Caroline, but would you ever consider doing a blog about your hair? As a fellow "mid-length blonde" I would love to know your secrets!

  20. Caitlin says:

You are just the most adorable pregnant woman ever. Have you heard that before?? Haha!
I have loved following along with your blog from wedding planning to preparing for little Caroline! And you are so, so close to meeting your little one! So precious.

  21. Courtney says:

I'll be following you the whole time! I'm excited for her to come:)

  22. AllyceR says:

Obviously your peanut will come when she is ready–as mine did–BUT two days before I went into labor I walked around the mall and the day before I had a pedicure. I didn't think anything of it until I found from others that they too had pedicures the day of or day before giving birth…just a thought! 😉 Obviously it can't hurt to have pretty toes when you welcome your girl either!

  23. Ahhhhh she's almost here! I am so happy for you! Such a fun time in your life!

  24. You are beyond darling! Enjoy the last few days before the little one arrives! =)

    Keep Shining,
    Meghan

  25. Samma says:

Yay! So close- just so you know I gained 28 pounds exactly, and Dell Harper was 7 pounds. About 2 weeks after she was born I was about 7 pounds off of my normal weight. It really does just fall off!
