Pinterest Inspiration…Office Nooks

Uncategorized

March 5, 2012

Since Pinterest came along, I know many of us have gotten a bit more creative in thinking outside the box of how to change certain aspects of our homes and such…it definitely helped me spark that idea to convert an upstairs alcove/hall into a small office nook and I am loving how it is coming together.
This is how it currently looks-to keep it simple and neutral, we wanted a built-in system that could serve a multitude of purposes, but mostly could be somewhere I could work from home that’s close to Caroline’s nursery, and a act as a spot for organization, creative projects, and such.

With that, I have been scouring my favorite site for ideas and such to bring in fun pops of color, a patterned chair, etc. and I cannot wait to finish it up and make it “my own”.

This is where I need help and advice from you!! I need any and all ideas that pop in your mind when you see this blank canvas…it seems like I’ve got a mental block for exactly what I want out of this space, so any recommendations you can send my way would be much appreciated. Something has to keep me busy and preoccupied ;).

  1. I love it! I seriously need a space like that. Space is super limited here, so it'll be a while.

A patterned chair would look great there!!! I know whatever you choose it will be beautiful 🙂

  2. Love the your inspiration pictures! They are all so pretty and great organization!

I agree – a patterned chair would add a LOT to the space oh and maybe a colored lamp or vase =)

I can't wait to see how it turns out =)

  4. I love how it looks already – built ins are a necessity!

  5. This is a great spot!! Love that you took advantage of free space in your home, without having to sacrifice a whole room. I love the third photo down…you could add a fun accent color too!

  6. Erin says:

Start with an awesome, patterned or bright colored chair! That would be my route 😉

  7. Caroline says:

Pick one bright colored item and decorate around it! I know you'll come up with something gorgeous!

  8. Kayln says:

Such a cute desk! Jealous of all that space :). There's this blog that always has adorable ideas and I know she has an in-home office that I remember seeing a while ago that was AMAZING. Here's her blog: http://honeywerehome.blogspot.com/

I love this! I am crazy about cornering furniture and this looks awesome! Pinterest gives me great ideas too…very addictive. Way to go Natasha 🙂

  10. Way to efficiently use that space for a desk nook! I love it!

  11. Kristin says:

A brightly colored chair, for sure with pops of an accent color–perhaps in desk accessories? The space looks great and I can't wait to see the final product!

  12. It looks great – did you have someone custom build it on-site? Love it!

And I agree with many of the other ladies – find one piece you LOVE and then decorate around that. I've been careful lately to make sure everything coordinates, but isn't TOO matchy / matchy.

There are great storage boxes at Ikea that come in white, kelly green, orange and a few other colors I think. I used them in Jackson's nursery and in my home office and old work office. They add some color and hide clutter!

  13. I love that last picture with the bright pop of color! Seriously what did we do before Pintrest?!

  14. Allyson says:

These are all so adorable! I love the idea of having a little office space!

  16. Shari says:

That piece is great to work with. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
