Tonight, we are headed to go see the local baseball team play, The Nashville Sounds, with some of our friends and my parents. We won a private box a few months ago in a silent auction and are finally getting to have a fun night out with everyone…cannot wait for hot dogs, peanuts, and beer, and my favorite part…to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” of course đ
Does anyone else out there buy ahead for clothes for your kids? I just scored some AMAZING deals online at Gap when I bought the girls a few new outfits for next summer (a benefit when they are right on track with sizing). They had an additional 40% off all their sale merchandise! I might not be the best coupon person out there, but I know how to be a savvy shopper in the clothing department.
Summer is winding down in these parts and we have been working like crazy to knock out our summertime bucket list…we’ve built a fort, visited the farmer’s market, and made popsicles, but we still need to have our afternoon picnic, paint canvases, and make smores. I am thinking these yummy Smore Brownies need to be baked ASAP.

The baseball game sounds like so much fun! I tried buying ahead for Blaire when she was smaller and I was terrible at it. I thought she'd grow much more quickly than she did and ended up with some stuff that never fit in the right season. Now she's started growing faster so I've given up on buying ahead. I spend enough on current sizes. Haha! Have a great time at playgroup!

I started "buying ahead" for J last summer and am so glad I did — it may not seem like it at the time, because you're spending $ on stuff they won't wear for a full year, but it saves SO MUCH!

I just found your blog and have to say that I loved reading through all your old posts! I am a Californian but lived in Kentucky for 8 years for high school and college. While I love living back in my home state, I definitely miss the "Southern" way of life and your posts made me feel nostalgic for those times! Also, I have a 1 year old and so a lot of your mommy posts really resonated with me! (BTW, congrats on #2!) Anyway, just wanted to write you a quick note and let you know that I think your blog is fabulous and I can't wait to read more! : )
