Dear Carson…9 Months Old!

Uncategorized

March 31, 2014

Hey there sweet button!! This month, you’re rocking and rolling in the crawling department and this is when we start entering the stretch I have seemed to enjoy the most. This past week, we visited Dr. Barrow for your nine month checkup and you are absolutely healthy as can be…which is something we are always so thankful for, first and foremost.
You weigh in at a whopping 18 pounds, 8 ounces (45%), are 27.25 inches long (50%), and your head measures at 18 inches (90%). It amazes me to hold other babies because they seem so light compared to you…chunky monkey indeed! You’ve got so much personality and it shows…you continue to be a mama’s girl through and through and go nuts if I’m in a room and not holding you. It’s funny because Mimi says you’re the most content little thing until you hear my voice and then start panicking because you want your momma. It’s kinda funny, but I’m hoping you get a little bit more independent as cooking dinner at night is hard with a giant baby attached to my hip and/or leg.

Yes, let’s touch on the food topic…we STILL have yet to find a food you don’t like. I am LOVING this trait of yours because it makes it super easy to please you with whatever we have available-fruit, veggies, meat, anything will do for you little bit. Your favorites include eggs, yogurt, blueberries, crackers, pasta, puffs, yogurt melts, baby food (all of it), waffles/pancakes, grapes, crunchie snacks, strawberries, and avocado. As for bottles, you are starting to want to hold your own (hallelujah!!), and you drink 4-5 bottles a day of formula. We are working with you on sippy cups filled with water and/or juice, but you mainly just bite and munch on them rather than get out the tasty good stuff.

Speaking of biting, you are turning into quite the little barracuda baby in the teething department. You have 4 teeth now (2 top front and 2 bottom front) and I think you’re at it again because you’ve been having a bit of a fever and you’re drooling all over the place. Just the other day, you bit my shoulder so hard that I screamed in terror and told you “NO!” and you immediately did the sad pouty face, and tears started streaming down your sweet little cheeks. You are a tad bit sensitive button, and that is something you absolutely have gotten from me…I might play tough, but I am a softy at heart. I also told you no again when you tried to steal your big sister’s milk cup and then the waterworks started…poor little baby, I love you so.

You are crawling everywhere, starting to pull up (which means the crib is getting lowered ASAP), and you are constantly trying to keep up with your sister…it’s the sweetest thing to watch you two interact and play together…this is the good stuff I’ve been anxiously waiting for and it’s happening!!
In terms of the sleep department, you still take between 2-3 naps per day, depending on how you feel, and then sleep from 7:30pm-6:15am. I can’t really complain, but I wouldn’t mind a bit of extra sleep in the mornings Carson, just in case you’re wondering ;).

 kisses from sister
get out of my photoshoot caroline…haha

You love to clap, go on rides in the stroller, sit outside, eat in your big girl highchair, play in the bonus room with all your big toys, play with Caroline in the ball pit, make funny noises with your mouth, and flip through books. You’re also starting to get curious about big girl toys, too.
Until next month my sweet pea…I love you the mostest in the whole world Carson Elizabeth!!

  1. Meredith says:

What a cutie!!! I SOOOO wish Millie would enjoy sleeping, 20 months and still wants to wake up and ask for a "cup" at night. Ugh… she's a cutie, Natasha, they both are!

  2. She's adorable! I have an almost 4 month old, so it's fun to read about what's to come. I can't imagine our little guy eating solid foods, so fun.

  3. Aw, what a sweetheart!! My baby Kiernan is a month and a half or so older, but I love seeing the similarities — and the differences — in where she was at nine months, too! (For instance, she still has no teeth ha! Which this nursing mama is rather thankful for, tbh.)

  4. She's so adorable, what a sweet baby!

  5. She's so cute!! I've been nervous on starting finger foods with my little boy that just turned 9 months, but Carson seems to take it like such a champ!!! I guess I just need to bite the bullet and give it a whirl. I'm so paranoid about him choking!

  6. E Hayes says:

Carson is a doll! I have to say that I just found your blog and I am so struck with how much your daughter favors my daughter. Something in their eyes and their hair is similar. So funny! I also live in Middle TN too but in a more rural area. Feel free to check out my family blog: http://www.cheathamblog.blogspot.com
