Shop Small and Shop Local || Cotton Mill Nashville

Ya’ll know I am a big advocate of shopping small and local and supporting other businesses like my own, and today I am here to tell you about a new gem of a store called The Cotton Mill. 

Started by husband and wife Candice and Joshua, The Cotton Mill is a clothing and accessories boutique that also has a mission to help others… they donate a large portion of their monthly profits to various organizations and are making a difference in so many people’s lives. 

The Cotton Mill was born from a desire to make more money to be able to give back more. Candice said she felt like she was continuously asking friends and family to donate to various causes that tugged at her heart, but she wanted create a place where women could purchase items they love, while also giving back to the community.  As a mommy of three, children are obviously important, as they have donated to several families that have children battling with cancer to help cover cost of travel expenses, etc.  
In addition, they donate monthly to important organizations including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as well as local The Well Coffee Shop to aid in their mission of building wells and providing safe drinking water.  

I was lucky enough to be able to spend some one-on-one time with Candice a few weeks ago at her home where she runs her boutique. She has transformed a room in their home into a stop-and-shop boutique, and I couldn’t get over how well everything was displayed, as she mentioned she is constantly having events and trunk shows with shoppers… right up my alley! She looks forward to expanding the Cotton Mill into a storefront and hopes to become more of a community where customers become engaged and walk along with their family in their missions to give back and impact lives. 

You never know what you may find… she carries popular brands as well as some up and coming names that I fell in love with, too.
