my morning skincare routine

fashion + beauty

May 16, 2023

Well hello friends… a few months ago, I gave you a little peek into my nighttime skincare routine and the steps I go through each night [or close to it at least] to make sure I’m sleeping soundly while doing what’s best for my face and body. This time, I’m giving you the go-ahead to see the ritual for morning = my favorite time of day.

I thought it only fitting to finish the series out with my go-to staples that I never leave home without… protecting my face against the weather, pollution, and anything else that comes my way!

Keep in mind, some of these products can be a bit pricey, but I’ve seen incredible results when I use them like I should and they have truly worked for me and made me feel super confident at 39… from skincare products, to beauty tools, and everything in between.. here is my fully-updated morning play-by-play:

My Morning Skincare Routine

one | cleanse dime beauty cleanser. This is a no brainer to the start of my morning= it’s time to wake up your face with the best foam ever. I’ve always been taught not to “invest” in a cleanser… wait and spend your funds on those potent serums, moisturizers and creams. You all know I am a Dime Beauty lover, it is lightweight and gentle on the skin and CLEAN, too. Perfect after a nights sleep to get all the dirt off your face before starting the rest of your skincare routine. It is packed with Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid, two ingredients that work hand in hand to dissolve dead skin and keep pores clean and the price is right at  $25 with my code TASH20.

two | tone dime beauty super skin toner. My next step is another fav from Dime and a much needed step, to tighten and firm my tired skin in the AM [and yes I use this at night as well]. Just pour a little on a makeup pad and swipe on the face, down the neck, and on the chest as well! Your skin will feel more hydrated and look brighter while giving you a toned face to apply your makeup.

three | moisturize tarte drink of h2o hydrating moisturizer. I have been a loyal Tarte girl through and through for years and mainly stick to their makeup but this gel-based moisturizer is by far THE best. It’s cooling and definitely helps with fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing before I apply my primer and foundation and I love the dewy glow it gives. Powered by electrolytes, it says goodbye to dry, dull skin and keeping it moisturized for up to 24 hours… be sure to snag 15% off using code NATASHA sitewide.

four | vitamin c drunk elephant c-firma day serum. Serums = the time to make it count! My skin gurus always remind me that this is the morning step not to miss as it’s the most beneficial to an everyday routine. Time to brighten, firm and combat against aging . This serum is packed with 15% vitamin c. Loosen the powder, then pour the liquid serum into the powder, shake until powder is dissolved and then mix once so you’re good to GLOW.

four | sunscreen skinpharm sheer defense spf. Oh Ladies!! I love me a monthly visit to the ladies at SkinPharm and I love the products even more! This non-greasy SPF can multi-task as a moisturizer that primes, protects AND leaves my skin smooth all day. Mimi always told me to never leave home without SPF and I am just now learning that lesson in my late 30s [better late than never].

five | setting spray iconic london prep set glow hydrating facial spray. Y’all know how much I love a natural dewy glow and this hydrating facial mist does exactly that while leaving the skin tone radiant and glossy! It’s the chef’s kiss… the perfect finishing touch and it doubles as a regular setting spray and touch-up mist throughout the day as well.

Other Essentials

face + eye ice roller. Not going to lie… I need to be better about incorporating this step every day…sometimes I forget! The icy face roller is perfect to grab from the freezer to help wake your skin up in the morning. I’ve seen it work wonders on puffiness and dark circles and even as a way to combat the tiredness after travel. AND if you’ve gotten a little too much sun, it doubles as the best way to cool down sunburned skin!

slimming face + chin masks. This is a newer item I started adding to my morning routine when I am prepping for a special event and/or photoshoot and though it may look a bit strange they work so well! Not only does it help to define and sculpt your jawline and chin, but it helps to diminish fine lines too. A 5-pack for under $20 means it’s not a huge invesment but one you’ll reach for time and time again.

gold under eye patches. I feel like I have tried every single under eye mask under the sun… and these are the ones I constantly go back to time and time again. Not only do they leave my under eys more soothed and hydrated, but the dark circles are drastically diminished. And yes, bye bye puffy eyes! They stay put when you put them on so they won’t slide off your face and I leave them on for 15-20 minutes to work their magic. Pro Tip: Pack some in your toiletry bag when you’re traveling for an instant refresh!
