I love doing a yearly recap blog post… seeing what’s transpired over the last 12 months, all the fun that my little family has had, things we’ve accomplished + completed = you know the “normal” year in review. But let’s all be blatantly honest, 2020 has been anything BUT normal and the fact that we are all still here–healthy and happy–is something to celebrate in of itself.
You know by now I am a always a glass half-full kind of girl so it’s time for me to sit down, think about all the GOOD that came my way this year and then start crossing my fingers we NEVER have a year like 2020 ever again… a wish we’re all hoping gets granted! Having said that, I’m thankful for another year of doing what I wholeheartedly love–sharing the ups and downs of life, giving you a daily dose of happy to help uplift and inspire, working with brands I’ve dreamed about for years, but most of all, making this a positive space for all who visit. 2020 Year in Review
JANUARY
started a brand new word of the year… quite fitting for 2020 if you ask me
got back on the FWTFL train… felt good to get back in my workout and food groove
spent some time playing at the new Graduate Nashville Hotel… the anything but ordinary boutique hotel experience
headed south to Florida for the 30A Songwriter’s Festival, courtesy of Hilton
hit up the Heart Ball Late Party with my hubby to celebrate with friends
FEBRUARY
headed to NYC with girlfriends to help shop market for KMcCarthy at Coterie
got to experience the most incredible week with my girls + Mimi with Disney at their Creator’s Celebration,
a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I will never forget
travelled to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a long weekend getaway celebrating Jordan’s 40th birthday
played in the snow with my little bunnies when the white fluffy stuff came down and called school out
MARCH
did a little sleepover staycation with Caroline and her besties for her 8th birthday at Gaylord Opryland + Soundwaves
headed to Rosemary Beach for Spring Break… the week before everything shut down
APRIL
hosted Easter brunch at our house… just our little family celebrating Him and all the blessings even during a crazy year
searched Pinterest high and low for ALL the activities to keep us occupied during quarantine
created the work-from-home-school office for the girls… thank heavens for our incredible teachers
MAY
celebrated the end of the school year and kicked off summer with a fun photo sesh with Allie Golden
started my six month brand ambassadorship with OxiClean… oh how much fun it’s been sharing this with you
visisted the Russell Nashville for a colorful photoshoot to share their brand new digs for out of town guests
showcased our love affair of baking and Rice Krispies for a fun mommy + me spring campaign
opened up the lake house for the 2020 season, complete with lots of overnight guests and loads of fishing + fun
JUNE
celebrated this little lady’s 7th birthday with a fun sleepover with her besties
FINALLY mastered the art of wakesurfing… oh the trial and error of sooooo many attempts but now I’ve got it!
JULY
released my first ever personalized product design in partnership with Social Threads, which has since sold out 4 additional times… such a fun experience that helped me start more work in all things custom and fab
celebrated Independence Day with family and good friends… lots of things to be grateful for, EVEN this year
came out with my first ever Gibson collaboration where I got the chance to design this gorgeous maxi and ruffled up romper for summer fun in the sun… a BIG goal I was thrilled to get to complete
spent my birthday weekend at the lake with some of the best friends a girl could ask for
AUGUST
prepped my babies to go back to school… a bit different than ever before as we
started 2nd grade for Carson and 3rd grade virtually for Caroline–goodness we love Scales!!
spent the weekend away with the bunco babes doing what we do best
SEPTEMBER
the girls scored our very first official collaboration with Target… guess all those #targetthursday
roundups paid off and we had a BALL sharing all sorts of girly goodness
welcomed some of my blogger besties in town for a fun staycation, Nashville style
hosted our friends for the Survivor Soiree benefitting our favorite non-profit, Survivor Fitness Foundation
particiapted in all the dress-up days for our school’s big INVEST fundraiser
celebrated Tucker’s very first birthday, complete with a doggy cake and all the presents
OCTOBER
joined forces with Truist to talk all about shopping small and local… now more than ever!
came out with my first ever stationery, homegoods and drinkware line with Clairebella Studio! a collab that was more than 6 months in the making finally came to fruition and it’s been better than I ever could’ve imagined
had my very first Anthropologie collaboration–a big brand check off my bucket list = over the moon happy
released my brand new custom camo + colorblock tote via Social Threads… months of prep with the perfect detail = design done right for holding evetything you need day in and day out… it’s sold out twice now and we cannot wait to bring it back
celebrated Fall Break in the happiest place we love, Rosemary Beach… with a fun new adventure, too
got all dressed up as the zookeeper and all his crazy animals for Halloween
NOVEMBER
spent the afternoon with our dear friend Kelly Terrell Art creating a custom art commission with C+C
headed south to Reynolds Plantation for a fun little group getaway to celebrate Bev’s birthday
checked off another collab bucket list item, this time with JCrew.. a major milestone for my #1 retailer — it was absolutely so much fun sharing the latest and greatest from the preppy, yet traditional brand I love
released my signature holiday jewelry and accessory collection with Accessory Concierge… working with this brand is near and dear to my heart and I am so thrilled to see how many of you enjoyed shopping this curated debut
Carson got to participate in her very first dance convention at Gaylord Opryland
Headed east for a few days of fun with our cousins and Meg and Aaron
took our little turkeys to Mimi and Pap’s for a proper Thanksgiving Day celebration
DECEMBER
hosted my annual 12 days of giveaways with SO many influential companies I am proud to partner with! a truly memorable and makeworthy time to surprise some of you this holiday season with special tidings and fun giftables, too
signed, sealed, delivered… we closed on our very 1st beach bungalow + began renovations = cannot wait for it to be complete on Ro Sham Beaux Rosemary, and yes you can rent it here
met the Jolly Old Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus so we could finalize our holiday wishlists!!
Spent a weekend cooking all the caramels and candy with Pappy and Mimi
I know our 2020 didn’t look quite as planned and I know yours was totally “off” when it came to trying to check your yearly trips, lists and such, but again… new memories were made, new traditions were formed, and we got the chance to slow down, savor it all a bit more and count our blessings, both big and small. Now let’s cross our fingers that 2021 will be much more ORDINARY, right?!?!?
